JX-3 Info for New Users

My Old pack compartment carries bibs, pnuma heated vest, midweight merino top, fleece pull over, FL winter face mask, after shot kit, climbing stick. I have learned to pre tie tether/rappel rope to handle of pack since i will pull it up the same as before I had the JX-3. The stick will be swapped with gun/bow at tree and come up with pack. I have yet to determine if bottom bibs go on at or in tree. Another tip is I leave my vest/merino/fleece pull over as one top. This makes it faster to put on once instead of 3 separate layers. Now I have to come up with the load lifters.
Says pics are too big

Load lifters are coming soon along with several other accessories.

Has anyone replaced the hardware on the leg straps to make them cinch down easier when used for storage?

Is it easy to put layers on while 20ft in the Jx3? I usually take off short I work in, then put on heated vest, then merino wool top, fleece top, parka and then bibs over pants. Is this possible in JX3 while only using top of a climbing stick?

IMo its incredibly easy. Once you get to height and take off shoulder straps you can add any torso layers just like you would in a minimalist saddle, a lock on, park bench, you name it.

Bottom layers are a breeze, rotate your body 90 degrees to the tree so that your side is next to tree, the jx3 will hold you. Put your little feetsies in, pull pants up a much as you can, unrotate back towards the tree, stand on your platform, undo leg loops, pull up pants.

I keep beanie, neck gaiter and wool mits shoved in the back of the JX3, easy to grab at any point.

Sounds like you have more clothes than i do to pack in, but my wool pants, jacket and fleece hoodie fit well between the bottom seat and the two straps under the seat. They live there until i get to height, then i reach under and pull them out

I’m wondering how you guys are storing your JX3? Especially people that are very concerned with cent control? Do they make a big scent control type bag for these?

I dont believe that anything else is being made and sold commercially currently for the JX3 Hybrid System. You could always spray off the straps and material with “scent killer”. Maybe after season I will remove my aftermarket waste belt pad and wash it. Other than that, I throw it on and hunt the wind. The more I have been hunting this year (especially hiking a lot with a rifle) the more I am learning about behavior, habitats, and wind. I have had great buck encounters (screwed it up some other way) this season with ZERO scent control.

JX3 Scent Control

Do the straps for the load lifters need to be run all the way down the shoulder pad/strap or do they just need to be a few inches attached to top part of shoulder pad? Say, only run through the first stock glider?

Found out my marsupial binoc pouch is not the best when using the jx. What are u guys doing with binoc while using jx?

How many of you JX3 owners have used it as your dedicated bow only hunting saddle and can give it a thumbs up or down?

It is my only saddle and I do about 95% of my hunts from it (either elevated or on the ground as a ground seat). I have few ground blinds I use otherwise. My climber and hang on just sit in my garage. This is true for bow and gun hunting. I hunt a mix of public and private.

After getting busted by this years buck while constantly adjusting for pressure everywhere and then falling asleep the first few times in JX3, I wont be reaching for anything else. With 3 months left of archery season here, I plan on putting in some long sits.

I have a monocular with belt clip and I clip it to my bridge during archery. When I’m hunting rifle and bring binos I just hang them from my HYS strap.

Quick question about load lifters. How much of the frame do these need to be attached to in order to be effective? Other gentlemen have run their bar stock down to the middle back area and attached but I do not want to alter the cloth that wraps the frame. Would the load lifters be as effective by only attaching them to frame the same way the head rest is in lower right corner of this pic from this thread or would it produce too much torque on the frame under heavy load (meat hauling) that could crack plastic frame?

I don’t think anyone really knows yet. They haven’t came up for sale yet as far as I know. kyler1945 created his own but that’s the only one I’ve seen.

I figured some military experienced guy or someone who is a dedicated hiker or something can chime in on the “physics” that is actually taking place while using “load lifters”. I have some ideas on a slightly different style of load lifters. Also, what is the plastic frame called that the JX3 uses? With the round holes in it and notches on top portion, it does not appear to be a Molle II GenIV. I am asking this because I have a new gen 2 JX3 with broken frame that I might want to fix some day rather than just collect dust in garage. I guess I can just use this one to tear apart and play with.

Gotcha!! I’m really interested in the benefits of these too. They are supposed to have several other accessories coming out. I keep checking the website waiting!

Experimenting with T-Slot railing for easier adjustments.
