JX3 Hybrid Custom Mods

I have 2 different configurations.

1. 2 20cm runners no biner.
2. 1 30 cm runner with biner.

The specific 20 cm runners are shown below. The 30 cm runner is at REI. Just search their web site.

How about some bigger pictures to show how you attached the runners to the JX3?

Thanks

In the first pic above, if you look closely, you can see they are both girth hitched to the JX3 bridge loops.

Maybe this pic will help (see below).

The the second configuration (with the 30 cm runner), the runner is girth hitched to one loop and biner connects it to the other loop.

@herd90 @CZMark

Hey: on thing to note. You lose the ability to "tilt" with config 1. With config 2, you can still tilt a bit but less than the stock bridge. You gain shooting space but lose tilting.

I hunt with a xbow so I dont really want to tilt...but if you are compound guys, think about this.. .

I added a "cobra" buckle to the waist strap.
It starts to act as a real "safety belt"
I am also going to upgrade the leg strap by changing the connectors to a load bearing connection.
The connectors will be a custom machined and toughened material (40 -45 R/c) from 4140
I will test their tensile loading capability in an Instron machine.
I know this is not a true safety belt but it will be much better that the plastic connectors supplied now.

I got my hybrid s couple of weeks ago. I put a headrest on it.

That looks nice. I have a Gen I, and I need to figure out how to add a head rest as well. I did two sits of 8 hours on Sat and Sun of our bow opener last weekend and was wanting a head rest bad.

It was fairly simple. I ordered all the parts from Amazon. The aluminum for the bracket and the hardware came from Tractor Supply. The mounts are aluminum and the rods are carbon fiber. The rest is fully adjustable, removable and even folds flat. It was a cool project.

Do you have better pictures?

I almost forgot... If you're like me, you'll also need three to four cigars and ten to twelve Corona Lights! :mask:

That’s awesome. What did you use for brackets the rods slide into?

When you get up the tree and you fold your shoulder straps back around the little ears on the frame, that padding makes a nice headrest as well if you're okay with being a little crooked

I think I might do more sleeping than hunting if I had that headrest
