Curious to how and what kind of pack y’all are running with this? I tried the Sitka fanatic pack and didn’t really like it. It will probably be going back to store. I have found myself In situations where I needed something and didn’t have it, but also in situations where I had too much junk and didn’t need it. What are y’all packing into the woods (excluding climbing/platform method). I’ve got a primos bow vest that will probably workout pretty well but left me without the ability to pack extra clothes and water. Just wanted to pick y’all brains on how y’all are carrying what you carry into the woods.

Saddle hunting has became the biggest money pit Black hole I’ve ever slipped off into! But yes can’t wait!

Here is what I'm using

John at JX3 is working on a custom pack, and I can’t wait for it to hit the market!
cant wait to check out his pack
I have a couple videos - one on johns pack, and one I made myself with the same premise.

Good to know. I would rather have a few side bags as I hunt closer to the truck on small woodlots but lately I have been leaving everything in my truck becuase I go back and get my sled to tote a deer out anyhow

Fanny pack for me. Fits easy inside for pack in. I just use the waist straps to attach it to the tree at height. Then everything is right in front of me. I don't carry too much.

I use a little pack that I bought at Walmart. It looks like a fanny pack but it only has a strap that goes over your shoulder. On the back of the pack there is a velcro loop. I put the waist belt of the Hybrid through the loop and take off into the woods. It stays there until I get to height and then I hang it on my strap on the tree.

I don’t like the hornhunter G2 as a daypack, so I cut the padding off it to remove weight, and I use that. By late season, especially long sits, I can fill it up no problem, also have extra layers cinched to it. I initially started climbing with the pack on my back, but I now just pull it up with a rope... (1) accessing on my back was a pain if the pack had any weight, (2) I’m hanging the bag from the tree anyway, and (3) I just like climbing with minimal weight and maximum dexterity. I’m still debating if I prefer the pack sandwiched in the Hybrid, or just hanging from the back and held tight with the leg straps. I typically have my sticks laying across the top. I kinda get sick of attempting to pack stuff in the middle and squeezing it all. I wish the G2 had more capacity, especially days I bring a camera arm, I still haven’t found the perfect pack for it... something like the G2 not bad tho.

What are are you keeping in that pack?
Knife, calls (grunt and bleat), tether, my diy accessory strap, water (32 oz Gatorade) , snacks (2 sandwiches and cookies) , range finder, compass, and tags. I hang my bow holder and a few other s-biners on the molle webbing. There is still a little room for a few small things. Once I'm up in the tree I hang the small pack from the accessory strap so everything is easily accessible.

Thanks, this looks perfect! Man you guys read my mind.... I'm struggling to find a pack that works well with my jx3 and was wondering what others on the forum were doing.
