Kettlebell Mile Challenge

Does that pace make sense to anyone? It was around 15:40 but I got a heart rate zone alert and you can't get rid of them if you keep looking at it. I think I can shut that off
Yeah that makes sense.

I was speed walking to see my pace and I was struggling to get it under 15. I can’t see this being done without jogging some. 6’2” for reference.

That was a workout with no warmup. It's cool today 87° and a light north breeze. I believe I can get the 15 with a warmup.

(Edit) I started shuttle jogging the "crown" to make up time

I’ll try this out before too long. Have the right kettlebell so I might as well. The 55 pounder has an awful grip though.

For anyone interested in high volume kettlebell stuff , Dan John’s 10,000 swing kettlebell workout improved my work capacity noticeably following completion. Article is easy to find. All the dates at the top of google show 2022 postings but it’s been almost ten years since I did it last. IMG_1715.jpeg

I'm not doing the kettlebell deal lol, but I can speed walk a mile in about 13 minutes. I've hit about 9mph on a treadmill without breaking into a jog, although that is NOT sustainable for any sort of duration... My average walking pace is about 4mph, with 4.5-5mph not being brutal. 5'10" here. Evidently weight is going to impact times! Best sustained push was about 4.5 miles (on a closed road, mostly level) in about a foot of snow in 45 minutes (talk about sweat).

I think my watch that I was using wasnt running long enough to get a consistent pace. I only turned it on for like a 10th of a mile and it was at like 16 min/mi pace. It gets more accurate over time from a gps standpoint. I’ve never did speed walking for a full mile though so I’m not sure how fast I could do it reasonably

Just a statement on my speed walk mile was 12m 44s, mild elevation change of +/- 5'. 85deg around 1pm.

Did a 2 miler with 30 lb KB in 33.5 minutes. My lower rhomboid tendons at the spine were angry for two days...

Got to rewalk that mile and it came out to 15:45, much different results, needless to say 12 minutes is a dream time, like fantasy....

I got a nasty cold for a while and been involved with bibleschool for a while now. Hoping to get back to getting back to twice a week here starting next week.

Good bump for this thread. I've been getting 18 minutes with 30 in hand 30 in pack.

Been a little stiff lately and then,

Slept wrong about a week ago, was really tired, and my right shoulder is jacked up into my neck. Gonna be cardio until I see an Ortho...

Good bump for this thread? Doesn't sound like it.
