Knees on tree

Not bad, but I think running the strap thru the knee pads allows the strap to take some of the load. The length of the strap can be adjusted so your weight (pushing against the tree) can be evenly distributed to knee pads AND the strap.

Might be, I'm going to try it to see which way I like the best.

Is this needed because of slippery cap knee pads? Mine are fabric and I have never had trouble. They grip the tree.

I use my tether since it just hang there to wrap around my legs. Feels good and I'm always adjusting around for comfort

I think a combination of that along with being able to redustribute the pressure to another point rather than your knee caps. I have the arcteryx caps and they're ok, but my knees go to hurting pretty quickly. I think this is going to help out a bunch

If you straddle the tree using a ros, Won’t that put most of the weight in your feet? Does the “T” from Cranford help a better straight on weight distribution from feet to knee on the tree? I can’t believe that there hasn’t been like a special tree pad marketed from kestrel or tethered yet (or has there)?

No reason why straddling would weight your feet more.

I don't think it changes how much weight is on your feet, unless you are sitting with your knees in the tree compared to leaning straddling the tree, When I sit down you just get "close" to the tree when your straddling the tree! lolol

I run my tether above my head since it is my climbing rope. More of my weight is on my tether and less on my knees because of the angle.
I think this may be why I don't really have knee pain while sitting with my knees against the tree.

10 4 on the getting close. A day like today, an ol wet tree, doesn’t seem too appealing. So a knees on the tree seems to be the best(for my comfort anyway)

I don’t want to hunt smaller diameter trees, but maybe a “T” centered up would help balance maybe? and kick the other leg out on the step on the side of the tree?

I'd lose my mind having my legs strapped together. Lol. If I'm in a skinny tree I just put one knee on the trunk, just outside the knee cap.. .after a while I switch to the other knee. And I have pretty bad Chondromalacia and have no pain or discomfort.
