Knot advice for rappel/tether

I'm about ready to start doing some mock hunts, hauling up gear and hanging it and shooting some arrows from up there.

That's where the fun starts. You'll start walking around randomly looking at trees and thinking of the best climbing route and method. You'll also find out that some of your carefully laid out ideas on the ground don't work when hanging from a rope.

Somewhat related but how are you fusing the ends of non-nylon core ropes like Oplux or BeeLine? I can't find a clear answer online and am willing to buy a heated rope cutter if it would actually work. In the meantime, I've been using 3:1 heatshrink with some superglue on the ends.
Tape, then cut, and put Super/Krazy glue on the end, the gel works nice for this. After it hardens take tape off and do around the outside to keep the outside fibers from fraying. Or use whipping twine fused together with low heat, can leave the end open, or cap off. Can also add a larger size cover of nylon or polyester, melt the ends of cover and sew on, this also gives a love profile stopper.

Instead of a long line going through the eye, it only has to be about 6”, just enough to bridge the two rope sections and to tie a stopper. This and attaching pull cord, can be done just before descending. In the picture the yellow cord is the retrieval and the green cord ends shortly after knot.
