Looking for expert experience based advice here on which knot tying book I should buy would serve to best educate a beginner novice saddle hunter on which knots to use for a given purpose or application as it applies to saddle hunting.
Looking for a book that will educate me on which knots to use for a givien purpose or application as much as how to tie them if such a book exists.

Personally I would not buy a book. You tube has all the information you need. Animated knots.com and other sites have all the knots you need, they are easier to follow on line then in a book. Search you tube for Saddle hunting basics. beginning saddle hunting, saddle hunting knots. If you want knots for a DIY bridge see the you tube video on the triad bridge. Knot types, bends connect two ropes, hitches connect ropes to an object which may be solid or a rope. Friction hitches are a special class to grab a rope if slipping and hold but unweighted can be slide on the rope in either direction. Ask questions on here, lots of help available. Need pics ask for that. God Bless, stay safe.

I believe animatedknots.com has downloadable gif images, I downloaded them and sat with them repeating and figured them out, and then tie and untie a knot for about an hour or so. Some trickier knots or ones I couldn't quite figure out, YouTube has a plethora of videos on.

Remember to refresh the knots in your memory every so often

Just try animatedknots.com. You tube has a ton of videos on knots. REI does a series on some knots and hitches used by mountain climbers. If I was gonna buy an actual book, it would have to be an arborist book such as “ART Tree Climbing Knot Book”

Thank you for the suggestion of using YouTube as I have learned a great many things and gotten myself out if many a jam by fixing things by way of YouTube videos.
The only reason I considered a book is I felt a book would be less likely to teach me something unsafe than a video

Thanks a great deal for all the suggestions
Smcchevy I will order that book you suggested
I am huge believer in books and have quite the library of reference materials as books and manuals is how I teach myself. I am about 90% self taught on most things including my job as an industrial electrician
I must admit 90-95% of every DIY project or new skill I needed to learn in the last 10+ years I did so with help from a YouTube video
Knot tying will be no different but having a good book on knots is just a cheap ins policy

I second the Tree Climber's Companion and the Knots At Work books from Jepson. I have both. They are excellent.
