Since the season is over, I’m upgrading and rearranging. I see I have this large pile of ropes and carabiners. I assume that’s probably not the best way for those to sit for 6 months. How often do you all untie your knots? I was going to roll them all up and just hang them up but was thinking about undoing all the stopper knots and friction hitches when I do. Probably a good chance to inspect them real well too? What says the group? Where do / in what condition do you keep your ropes in the off season?

I don’t untie anything and I just keep mine inside a tote in the house.

Just keep them dry and out of sunlight and synthetic ropes should be OK for decades. Untying the knots or loosening them would reduce stresses.
