Kuiu 1800 Venture

I have the 2300. I put my sticks on the sides, 2 sticks on each. My platform still isn’t here but I’d run it in the bottom straps or the back. Then I’d put my layers in the pack.

i have my kill kit, first aid, and various other things in all the storage pockets leaving my main compartment for layers.

also Im I’m PA. I went 2300 since my layers are much bulkier than a warmer are.

for scouting I throw my saddle in the pack.

Are those beast sticks? I think that’s what I’m going to be running this year! Hoping to get some soon. Also I can relate as I hunt PA but live and hunt in MA aswell. What platform do you run? I run an XOP. Hoping it would fit on the front.. just don’t want the pack to be to floppy and hang down with the weigh all strapped to it.

Those are cut down Novix sticks.

currently I have a ROS, I have a CRUZR Seeker on order. I ordered it a week ago and it says back ordered up to 2 weeks so I figure any day in the next week I should get an update. With that being said, the straps on the venture are a lot longer than one would expect. I see no problem being able to strap a platform to the back. And if it doesn’t work in terms of things banging, I’ll throw the sticks on the bottom and leave the platform on the back.

It’s not worth getting the 1800, I would get the 2300. They are the same size pack just a little more room in the bag part. You might as well get the extra pack space if they’re about the same price. It’s not anymore bulkier. It’s got lots of ways to use the straps to haul sticks and platform etc. great pack all around.

I agree with gcr that the 1800 isn't worth it. It's a very linear pack so the 2300 ci isn't quite as big as it sounds. I don't think the 1800 has side straps like the 2300 either. The side straps add a lot of versatility when it comes to sticks + layers + platform. I have skeletors and an EDP for reference. Last weekend i carried 4 muddy stagger steps, 4 full size LW, my platform and an assortment of straps and ropes and whatnot. It was alright, but I wouldn't want to carry too much more.

I forgot to add, The straps pull it down a ton, I didn’t think it was 2300 until I actually started opening it all up. You really should go for the 2300

Thill so you think a 2300 would carry 3-4 beast sticks and a xop platform just fine going in 1.5 plus miles?

Oh for sure. My load was probably pushing 40 lbs and I carried it at least 1.5 mi. At that weight it felt about as heavy as my typical climber setup, maybe a littler heavier, but was slightly more comfortable. Everything I've heard is that they're good up to 30-35 lbs and I would say that's pretty accurate. Could definitely do more but at that weight you really need suspension and a frame to be 'comfortable' Carrying the typical saddle equipment you'll be plenty fine at the price point. It won't ride like a stryker (not that I'd know) but at 20% of the cost you can't go wrong. I was between this and a pop-up, chose this because it's a lot cheaper, seemed less bulky and I like the long linear profile. It sits on the back well, you can kind of get it sitting on your hips and it carries nicely in the tree. I read the backpack forum too many times and shopped just about every option and so far am not disappointed. Will be adding the pro version at some point for late season.

Being up north you will probably utilize the additional space of the 2300 for clothes but that is the only reason to choose it over the 1800. Boned out you can get a 125-130# deer in the 1800 and it will handle it just fine including a climbing stick and platform. But it will start getting a little uncomfortable if you are over 1.5 miles from the truck because it doesnt have a frame and load lifters. 30-35 pounds in that pack, you could walk all day.

@MA_PAdeerslayer where in PA roughly do you hunt. I hunt 3-4 locations from Lehigh valley, to the Poconos, Then all the way up in potter. If you’re in the area anytime soon, you’re welcome to try mine out before you buy.

I echo what everyone else has said--go with the 2300. You can always cinch the straps down and compress the bag in the early season, as most of us current users (apparently) do. It carries my 2-3 full-length Hawk Heliums plus my Predator platform comfortably with the straps.

I hunt Susquehanna county! Usually early for a week during bow and then it was always second rifle for doe season and since the rule change we didn’t change so we still go second week. Easier to be home with the fam for turkey day

nice, usually I go up for either bow or muzzleloader then a week during rifle. My done has dmaps so I’ve been able to take a doe during first week for a while.

CRUZR puts that for their cushion but ours shipped the next day despite the "delay". CRUZR is awesome to work with.
