Lakes and reservoirs

So I’ve been looking at a couple of properties that surround either lakes or reservoirs. I’m looking for some scouting and set up ideas the main one I’m looking at is mostly big woods hills that surrounds a lake. I wasn’t sure if the deer will bed up on the tops with the lake to the back like an oxbow or if they would still be on lower one thirds. Does anyone have any tips on where to look in this type of terrain for bedding?
 
There's a lot of variables. I'd start by looking at the prevailing wind, and look for places where they can be both sheltered and smell potential threats. Next look would be food sources, since water is right there.
