Latitude Classic 2!!!!!!

Not if you use a lineman’s belt. You won’t be able to remove the paracord from the clip. You would have to tie the paracord from the molle loop and a hook on the stick or something.
alright. I'll have to look into it some more when I it comes. Always possible to get something made for the stick that has a clip I guess or use a long enough piece of paracord to just hang it off of the step on your stick

I receive my classic 2 tomorrow. Is there not enough space to hang a stick on that first molle loop with kydex a clip? I imagined if you got a longer piece of paracord the stick would hang below your lineman loops/lineman belt

That would probably work but it may be too far forward and your stick bounce off your knees. Let us know. Its not bad behind the lineman loop. It’s like every other saddle. They all were too far back but not unusable.

The classic 2 is larger than the original
Classic. The classic 2 lineman loops are a lot bigger also. There is no need for the larger lineman loops. They took up the perfect spacing for molle loops. Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they left the lineman loops off all together. I never had a problem with using the bridge loops as lineman loops anyway. They are still closer to perfect than any other saddle to me and it’s more comfortable than the original so at least they are making progress.

It’s wider. At least that’s what the website says.

Larger saddle? Are they offering different sizes now? The classic and classic 2 I have are identical in dimension.

After some time in the classic 2 I have drawn some conclusions also…

The leg loops aren’t perfect but the are a lot better. The ones on the first classic were god awful to put on and take off.

The bridge I felt was plenty long enough but I like the old bridge a lot better. The Amsteel really binds and is hell to break free.

I really like the new color scheme.

The new rope belt I am not so sure about. I don’t know what saddle sag is. I have never experienced it. Seems it’s just a way to save money by not using buckles but yet it is $30 more expensive than the regular classic.

Problem that was carried over and made worse on the classic 2 is the linemans loops are huge. They need redesign… the molle loops dont come far enough to the front of the saddle. Then this mysterious molle loop they added in front of the lineman’s loops for some reason makes it even worse. You gotta reach what feels like almost to your butt crack to reach your dump pouch. Then if you use your lineman’s loops that molle loop in front becomes useless anyway.

Its still one of the more comfortable saddles on the market.

Put in another sit in my Classic 2 this evening.

Damn those dump sacks are indeed a long way back. That’s the worst thing about this saddle. They really should do something about it. Reaching back for my phone or my grunt tube really expands my visual profile, having my elbow cocked way back - this increases sight bust potential.

Otherwise, this saddle is terrific. Most comfortable saddle I’ve owned - seems to fit my ass perfectly - I could sit in this thing comfortably for a long time.

Black Friday deal. Get it for 25% less than what I paid.

I tried a Classic 2 and it doesn’t work for me. They are well made. I have come to learn saddles are user specific. Most folks don’t like the Merlin and I love it. That was great deal on the Classic 2.

Well you guys hooked me I’ve got one coming to try out.
So far I’ve had a Kestrel, Recon, and currently a Transformer. Not quite sure I’m a two panel guy yet. It’s better at organizing the straps over the Recon but still has some cons.
The Classic II speaks simplicity to me, maybe she’s the one.
If not I’m blaming @swampsnyper :sunglasses:

Saddle arrived today, only got to sit in it about 5-10 minutes ago, but plan to hunt it tomorrow.

Due to Latitudes having no telephone #’s listed to call and order or correct orders I lost out on Black Fridays sale pricing on dump pouch and back band due to playing tag on emails (didn’t get on original order and tried to correct but no contact #). Not crazy with their customer support due to this, but will give the saddle a fair shake.

I rigged up an existing dump pouch by zip tying the front molle loop to the LH linesman’s loop to get it forward and useable (usable loops too far back due to linesman loop horizontal orientation).

My waist rope does want to slip if I apply downward pressure but not with the weighted dump pouch.

Seems like it will be comfortable. And I do agree with those that state a longer bridge would be helpful (4” more).

But overall at first impressions I like the metal free concepts and simplicity of the saddle.

Hey, I made a believer out of a tethrd user yesterday. Sat in the classic 2 for 1 second and was like, “oh yeah!” I said whoa whoa whoa. Give it back. He liked it a little too much.

I just got my classic 2 in a few days ago. I came from a cruzr xc. I liked the cruzr ok, but wasn’t a huge fan of the pleat. I wanted to go back to something simple. This classic 2 is a very nice fiddle free saddle. I think I’m really going to like it.

Hunted in a Classic 2 this season. I did like it. The only thing I have to compare it with is the older Tethrd Mantis, which was also good, but not quite as comfortable.

Ok I hunted all day Saturday with the new Classic II. Morning sir 4 hrs and evening 4 hrs.

Pro’s:
Light weight.
Metal free except for G hooks, real quite!
Slippery Am Steel bridge, slide better than any other bridge material I’ve had to date (rope and webbing).
Overall simplicity of the design.

Con’s:
Am Steel bridge. Not adjustable under load and very hard to unbind and adjust unloaded.
Am Steel Bridge too short. Needs about 4”-6” more.
Not sure what’s causing it but I feel pressure on sides of upper thighs like being squeezed together. When I try and open my legs the pressure moves to middle thighs area (where lower webbing band runs under them). Only comfortable position was with knees together. I made several adjustments to move pressure to front (bottom band support) to back ( upper band). Maxed out bridge to create widest angle but still couldn’t get completely comfortable.

Linesman loops. The horizontal design eats up usable molle loop spacing making it impossible to get dump pouch forward enough to not be to far back and awkward. I rigged up a work around by zip tying the front of my dump pouch to linesman loop and rear to first molle loop pass linesman loop. It works great in this position.

Due to the comfort issues I did a head to head comparison with my Transformer. The Transformer was easily able to reach comfort status with adjustments. It’s bridge is 40+ inches long so a greater angle was easily achieved. I really don’t adjust the bottom panel hence my thought to give the Classic a try. The Classic is actually wider than the Transformer when panels are closed together.

I thing if the Classic was a couple inches longer, the bridge longer and maybe a redesign on the adjustment hitches to make it more one handed operable, it’d be close to perfect.

Oh and the vertical supports seem to actually create a point of pressure as well? Maybe run that band horizontal for support?

Now if the Transformers bottom panel had about 3” of the material between the bands on each side removed. It tends to brunch up due to the webbing band angles as it wraps around your thighs. Give it a rope belt and reposition the leg attachment points on the upper panel to the bottom. The upper attachment point tend to get bound up by the upper webbing bands creating a pressure point. With these Mod I’d be pretty happy.

I use my same old amsteel bridge I used for many years on all my saddles. It’s just dialed in for me. I don’t even waste my time with other bridges any more. So I think you need to make your own bridge and it would help with the squeeze.
I’m with you on the lineman loops also.
Also make a better loop for the leg straps and I’m all in for a classic 3. Lol
