Just a quick write up about this new saddle.

Coming from the Method 2 I was already spoiled by IMO the best 2 panel saddle made. I honestly could and would have hunted out of it until it was a frayed and dangerous mess, lol!

I was not in "need" of an upgrade on any level.

Enter the Method 3.

Okay, so. Huh. That's nice. WOW. They did what? Padding? Better magnets? More structure??

Crap. Take my money!

It has the same name but it is not the same saddle with "tweaks."

IMO it feels like TX5 and Latitude had a 2 panel baby, and they got lazy and named it the Method 3.

Thicker webbing, Amsteel panel control, better magnets with no fidget factor, breathable padding, greater/more structure, durable material and just clean!

This is not a newer version. Totally new saddle. My only thought concerning a con would be if you enjoyed the Mesh in the Method 2 that allowed the saddle to be smaller and more pliable. What is funny is that the Method 2 now feels like a minimalist saddle in comparison, and some may prefer that.

Will it help me kill more deer. No.

Will it make me look cool. Yes.

Will I be more comfortable when despair has set in on Dec 28th and I'm drawing back on an unsuspecting Spike, Yes.

Others have already said this maybe the best mass produced saddle to date, and IMO I agree.

Thanks for the read. Stay safe and easy on the Little Debbie's out there!

PS One Con - No Stickers in the BOX! Cmon Latitude what am I supposed to put on my Trapper Keeper!

There’s not as much room in it as you’d think theyd be. It’ll hold a tether, lineman’s, and a wide latitude backband. The big net pouch on the front is holding a cam strap. They should’ve made that net pouch zippered instead of an open with an elastic band around the top….thats my biggest complaint.

The method 2 is my saddle because of the packability, no metal, and minimalist nature. I’m sure the 3 is a great saddle but it’s headed in the wrong direction from my preferences.
I agree with this thought. If you loved the minimalist feeling of the 2 then yes, the 3 is bulkier. The thing that is still impressive is how well the belt and bridge secure it and shrink it down for a walk in. It just doesn’t move. And because of this, I don’t notice the extra padding or structure.

Okay. I want to clarify. You are saying the XL does not have that much room? I ran two method pouches off my method 2. Left was linesman and right was tether and hys strap. I do like the front pocket being zippered. I keep a sharp folding knife in one in case of a need for cutting away. And in the other I carry my release in the walk in.

I don’t have the M3, but a TN Blackbelt and it does not ball up like a mesh saddle and that is absolutely a con to a structured saddle. But it’s not a huge deal for me because I’m hiking in with a frame pack and never wear my saddle in. Nevertheless, I have a Wood Orginal saddle that balls up to nothing and is more breathable, and it’s a better choice for the early season or if I’m scouting with a downsized pack and only a possibility that I’ll climb and hunt.

If the objective is maximizing comfort for long days in the absolute worst of winter, hands down the structured padded saddle is the right direction imo, and worth adjusting your approach else continue to manage 90% comfort, or 80% comfort, or 50% comfort or whatever the best you can.

Totally get that hunting approach/style is individually tailored, but this kind of saddle is objectively more comfortable imo.

There’s a little more room in a method pouch than they are the XL Operators.

They’re the XL’s.

That has more padding than the saddle, lol. Surely there’s a thinner better approach to structuring these. Strange they landed where they did.

Method 3 showed up over the weekend, only wore it in the basement and hung off a basement support but seems very well put together and not overly bulky at all, which was my concern after seeing the pics. It seems very well done, steam lined, and I'm excited to put it through its paces!

I agree….. and I don’t see the need for the fleece lining on the inside. It’d have more room without the lining. Just wish it had a zippered pocket on the front. It’s a good concept that hopefully they’ll improve on. But the way they have the clip in system is much better than metal triglides.

Just watched a video on them and the XL is deep but seemed to fill up with one rope and a gear holder. I do like the structure but like the gentlemen earlier. That pocket on the front I would like to be zippered. I like keeping my release in there on the walk in.
