Let’s see your JX3 Hybrid Pictures!

A lineman's belt is a fall prevention device. NOT A FALL RESTRAINT DEVICE.

If you're depending on a lineman's belt to stop a fall, you're using it improperly.

I can tell you that each plastic buckle on the leg straps will probably come apart at somewhere around 75-100lbs. It could be more, but that's generally what those size side release buckles come apart at. This is irrelevant to the topic at hand though.

I am happy to expand on this, in a thread where that is the topic. Let's at least attempt to keep this thread as pictures of hybrid setups and modifications.
A linesman belt IS a fall RESTRAINT device. They beat this crap into our head at work and it took me awhile to pick up on it. Fall arrest systems are basically after the fall ( basic tree stand harness) fall restraint are restraining you from falling (linesman belt).

Updated for proper verbiage. Honestly I don’t like the word restraint here anyway. I prefer prevention and arrest. They are clear and concise, and easily parse between the moments before you actually fall, and those after you’ve fallen.

Thanks for clarification.

More pictures of hybrids please! We’ve ten threads on lineman’s belt and hybrid safety!

I'd agree prevention and arrest make much more sense.

Just got this week and love it. Sold my mantis and predator after the second sit. Shot this doe the second sit. My third sit (today) had a six point coming in and the neighbor opened up his barn and got the snow blower out scared him off just out of bow range. Went from 45 yesterday to 25 today with about 5-6” snow. Can’t wait to keep sitting in it. In just three sits I’ve noticed for me it is much easier to sit more still, sit longer and I even find it easier to maneuver around the tree and shoot. This doe I shot in a window that I don’t think I could have got to with my mantis. My problem with the mantis was constant hip pinch no matter what I tried. This has solved my problems

So I just picked up the hybrid and have a couple questions. As a tall skinny guy, I try to keep everything within the width of my shoulders. How are you guys working this thing through thick brush?

Also, how are you guys carrying sticks in with this? I feel like I need to tinker with it a little to figure it out, but I won’t be packing them horizontally due to increasing width.

Of course tinkering will eventually tell the tale, but thought I’d see everyone’s thoughts. Thanks in advance.

My DIYs stagger so, they don't pack anywhere all that well. Tempted to go with the Beast Sticks since they stack in a line and can fit horizontally on the seat.

Normally my sticks ride on top strapped tight with leg straps. This weekend trying 2x2 on each side using a Nite Eyez Gear Tie. Not sure I like it better.

I'm not that skinny, so I don't fit through a lot of brush regardless of stand/saddle. But the Hybrid doesn't bother me in this regard.

Hunted two straight days with windchills in single digits or below zero.

Testing out a prototype ‘skinny’ hybrid for Mr. John right now. Early returns are positive.

I wore a pair of sitka fanatic bibs and puffy vest, underneath Cabela’s stand hunter bibs. If you’re familiar wjth these articles, I couldn’t have worn anymore clothes and been able to draw a bow haha!

I made one last hunt without most of my gear because I had been tracking a deer from the night before. I ended up one sticking with a muddy pro to about 10-12’ for my last hunt. I leaned on the stick 75% of the hunt, was able to draw and shoot about 340* around me - 3-4 o’clock was not doable for how bundled up I was and the tree I was in and without my ring of steps.

Fun hunt though had a nice buck get to about 50 yards downwind before blowing out.

Cant wait for more info on this

No pic with saddle yet. But dropped this 7 point this morning out of my jx3. Used my 450 bushmaster. Super easy to shoot a gun out of this saddle

Are your leg straps holding them tight to the seat? Or do you have them attached another way?
Yes. No other way. But beast sticks are the best. See pics. They fit snug, dont rattle, and only add a tiny amount to your width.Screenshot_20191115-121854_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20191115-121845_Gallery.jpg

Anybody tried replacing the bridge with a quick link? Might be a little tight around legs. And you'd lose any bridge sliding though biner. Not sure how much the regular bridge slides anyway. Different positioning than a soft saddle.

Just felt a little like the bridge was too much stuff in my business the other day. Not a big deal, just pondering possible improvements. Love to tinker.
I went with a shorter bridge for a few hunts. Then went back to the one it comes with. Just more room to adjust during the day

I've been loving my hybrid! Very interested in the "skinny" version as well. Sound like a good excuse for me to buy another!

So was this a successful JX3 ground assault?! noyce. I shoot an Xpedition too.

Yup, actually 3 different ground assaults in those pics. The first pic was kayaking in for a turkey hunt this spring, second was a buck I shot early October sitting on the ground, and last 3 were from my most recent JX3 ground assault.

Well I don’t have to figure out where in the canoe to put the hybrid while paddling in...
