Where the skys are so blue!
Spring is sprung, and it's time for me to start prowling the water again in search of...something I'll recognize when I find it. The only thing I love more than big deer is small watercraft, of which I have owned many. Pirogues, skiffs, canoes, dinghies, jons... let's see'em. Heck, sit-on kayaks too I reckon. ;)

I'll start. First 2 pics are my first "real" boat. $100 craigslist special from Bayou LaBatre, Al. 3rd is my current rig, the "Pig Latin." 4th and 5th are my good ole Grumman 17' double ender. Final is my WS Pungo, which has slipped around a lot of creek corners and allowed me to shoot oodles of flushing woodies IN DA FACE!!

Let's see'em!

@Vtbow, I still ain't over the guy that sold a royalex Old Town out from under me. Still in the dang plastic bag! That's some nice boats, and a nice beer can. ;) I've been known to accept pabst is yeungling wasn't flowing.
Thanks, Always have to include a beer can for scale, its a rule! ;)

Not going to like, thats only part of the fleet. Also have a rainbow boatworks kevlar 18' tripper canoe that weighs in at just under 30lbs, a 1899 EM white decked canoe, a 18' mariner kevlar sea kayak, a couple zodiacs...hmmm..I'm sure theres more :)

Here is my 11 ft radison canoe. It’s only weights 32 pounds and is very stable. It also have a 500 pound capacity!View attachment 10979
Radissons are AWESOME. Looks liek you upgraded the seats from the kneeling foam blocks they came with. Think they're rated for a 5hp to? used to come with a sweet side mount.

I have the side motor mount for it too but I took it off. I still sit on the bottom of it most of the time as it’s more stable that way. The seats are more for the ms

If there's more, we need pics!

First canoe, an old town Saranac. Still have it up at my parent's cabin. That's my buddy, comin back from an unsuccessful scoutimg trip. He was trying to find a dry place to take a deuce. We were camping on a floating platform, and living on beer and crawfish. Good times.

16ft Lowe crappie boat. Stick steer. 40hp Evinrude. Dog is Sapper, a 200lb Great Dane. Sold the boat, dog's still around.

3rd pic is a swampsquatch in his native environment. Despite their ferocious appearance, the swampsquatch is fairly peaceful, and enjoys the Travelling Wilburies and cane pole fishing.

my 1956 lyman is currently in storage, but I"ve replaced half the planking over the last 10 years....its a long term restoration project!1956 lyman.JPG

Here is my boat for the skinny or shallow backwater. It’s a 19’ x 48” aluminum skiff type boat except the hull has a rounded bottom like an airboat. It is currently wearing a 36hp Prodrive surface drive motor that allows it to run in the mud.
The second pic is a view from the transom when the bow fishing lights are on.

I just picked up a 15.5 pelican canoe and am going to look at a 3 hp jc penny outboard motor.

A canoe that will take a motor is a beautiful thing. Small enough to cartop, big enough to hold stuff, sneaky when paddled, and can cover ground whem motorized. At home in rivers, lakes, ponds, ditches, and swimming pools.

You gonna dig it!

That’s what I was thinking of. I have a few lakes that I want to get to and some slughs off the river. I have access to the Mississippi River...can put the boat in and only have to carry the canoe 30 yards. It will give me access to some small islands that but up to the river but has a 30 foot wide by 20 feet deep creek surrounding it.

yup, you're gonna love it. had a 12 foot single person canoe with a 1.5hp outboard on it that I went places you wouldnt imagine with....including miles across the lake. have fun with that!

Yea you southern boys got me thinking, and that’s dangerous. I’ll also start looking for some outriggers that will just need for stability while on the river.
