Let's see those pre-sets!

Let's get some photos going. Prepped trees, shooting lanes, water holes, mock scrapes, bolts, sticks, bow hangers. You name it, let's share what we're doing. I'll post some early next week.

Preset on private with spikes. This is a great way to set up a tree if you can use spikes or bolts. It's also very economical. A set up like this might cost $35 if you use grade 8 bolts and a little less if you use spikes.

Yeah man! that's the stuff dreams are made of right there. That is 100% my favorite way. I have about 25 like that. Completely quiet, 1x install, good for a few years.

anyone preset with paracord and then pull the rope up, set and SRT?
probably the only *legal* preset option on public. I guess that requires a limb or something too, eh?

I have used a single WE Stepp to act as a crotch ring in lieu of a preexisting limb but CGM offers these for sale on their website. Its a much more economical option.

Forgot to attach the link. :tearsofjoy:

Yes, for my "in city" and 2 5-acre private land(not mine) spots i have presets but I actually leave ultra tech(7.9mm) rope in the tree. They have a sun and chafe protection on them at the top and are always facing the north side of the tree.
I don't have any installed now but will try and take a picture when I start doing them in August...or sooner if I get a chance to get out climbing

I’d be very nervous leaving my climbing rope in a tree (squirrels or anything else that could chew on or tamper with a critical piece of life safety equipment). Back when I used ladder stands, any that were left out all had their straps chewed through by the next season.

Paracord.

That's why they have chafe/sun protection on them around the tree trunk and a couple feet down. I've never had any chew marks at all on my ropes, but if I did, I'd just use paracord. Maybe spraying fake deer piss diluted with water on my ropes also helps keep the squirrels away....
