I'm leaning to towards going all out and buying the Weston Pro Series #12. I butcher all my own whitetail and I'm tired of dealing with my buddies kitchen aid mixer with the grinder attachment sausage stuffer. What are you guys using?

I've ground several through my Cabelas #5 meat grinder for $80 and I think I got it cheaper than that on sale. I use a LEM 5 lb. mighty bite to fill bags/sausage casings and wish I would've went bigger capacity on that. Weston is a good brand and I don't think you could go wrong with that choice.

I love my Weston grinder. The sausage stuffer ability is better than a KitchAid mixer but it's not as good as a dedicated stuffer

The Kitchen Aid grinder sucks. I used to grind by hand and kept telling my wife I was going to upgrade with my Xmas money last year. Well she went ahead and made the executive decision and bought the Kitchen Aid attachment. It's an upgrade over the hand crank sure, but every time I use it I think I am going to fry the motor. I don't really care how long it takes, but I'm OCD about keeping the meat partially frozen to avoid fat smear. I'd like to get something big enough not to worry about that eventually.

For stuffing I have a 5# LEM. I agree with @Jtaylor feedback - go bigger. I usually do 20-30# batches and it's a lot of reloading hassle.

I just got done making 75lbs of brats. Trying to use the grinder to stuff was a very slow process. After the first 25 lbs took a couple hours to stuff through grinder, I went and bought the LEM 5lb mighty bite. Made all the difference in the world. 25 lbs took all of 15 minutes to stuff. A bigger one would be nice, but it is so quick to refill and get going again, that the much higher cost of the bigger ones didn't appeal to me.
