Lifeline as tether

i have several presets with with lifeline in trees i hookup when i climb and it serve as tether anyone doing this im new to saddle hunting and enjoy it very much

I wouldn't leave a rope I'm depending on to keep me 20 feet from the ground out in the weather. It's a personal thing though and I hope it works for you a lot better than my imaginary worst case scenarios. Good Hunting!

thanks havnt thought of it that way im new to saddle hunting and love it
 
I used to do that, then I was talking to a friend who is in the tree business, he said I was crazy.
they take great care of their climbing ropes, never get them wet, always keep them in great shape

so now I don't hunt a tree unless I have it preset, carry my climbing rope in, rig it up and then climb
I use the same rope as a tether, and gear hoist.
takes a couple of extra minutes , but I think it's worth it.
 
I wouldn’t. Buy one or make one that way you know nothing happens to it and if it’s wet, hang it up when you get home to dry.
