What a quality, light weight lineman's belt that won't break the bank? I'm trying to piece together a kit. I have a tether, saddle, steps, and platform.

HTP 9mm. About a dollar per foot. EWO and Cruzr both sell it by the foot.

What are you using for tether? Just curious. They can be the same or different kinds. Eastern woods outdoors (EWO) has been good to me and has everything you need. Resctech would fit the bill for sure and I use it for rappelling now too.
Are you rappelling yet? I’m on probably one of the lowest budgets on this forum and after lots of searching, the Canyon Elite is what I got for my first rope. I still use it for my tether.

I got a used (but new) latitude method 2 and it came with a vapor tether. I am not repelling.

I've seen some videos. Are people only doing this one sticking? Why would you do this if climbing sticks?

I use 4 skeletors with a Backwoods mobile 2 step moveable aider and just started rappelling this season. Much safer and easier way to get down from hunting height than trying to find the aider steps climbing down in the dark.
It's a little extra to carry but totally worth it. Plus it's pretty bad ass rappelling out of the tree

There's a ton of info on this site about rappelling and why guys choose to do it just use the search function and you'll have plenty of the info you are looking for

It may seem complicated, but your tether and lineman’s belt are just a pieces of rope. Obviously, those pieces of rope need to be a quality ropes you’re willing to put your life on…….but so does ALL your saddle stuff!
When shopping for rope to make a lineman’s belt, look at 40’. It’ll be plenty for a lineman’s belt and rappelling line, depending on how you tie the ends, or if you get a sewn eye on one end.

Rock N Arbor. Use JRB10 discount code for 10% off. If you get 22' you will have enough for two lineman rope/ tethers. Cut in half. Heat shrink ends, it won't melt. Tie a figure 8 on a bite large enough to allow passing thru your biner and friction device. Tie a double overhand stopper knot on the other end. $1.54' less 10%. Tie a JRB non jamming compact JRB ascender hitch on each. You could use sterling accessory cord, 6 or 7mm. 6mm sterling accessory cord is $14.99 for 25'. Cut in half melt ends. Tie this
.
Done for $44. And you have a super compact lightweight system that is crazy strong. No metal quiet. Self tending.
