Live from the saddle 2019

Definitely no sign in that area, move along......
Unfortunately its purely nocturnal. I've sat near or in this area three times since Saturday. Not a single deer sighting. Come back the next morning and tracks are everywhere. There's a big oak in there that must still be dropping acorns. They're also bedding in the area but the snow is so crunchy there's no way to get anywhere near them when they're in there. This coming weekend my plan is to be in the tree 2 hours before daylight. I'll catch some z's and wait for them to show up. Then I'll sit there until a daylight opportunity presents itself.

What about going up the creek?

Well boys, here’s my first sit in a saddle EVER. Hunting a property near my house in the suburbs of Nashville that I just got permission on. Only about 12 feet up with my Heliums and I only have one shooting lane, but by golly I’m here!!
I still have lots to learn, but I started with a lot of confidence and know-how, thanks to y’all. Cheers!

Update:
The bad news: Holy smokes am I fidgety trying to get comfortable. Clearly have some work to do to get things dialed in.
The good news: I had a bobcat walk to 7 yards from my spot before spotting me. I’ve hunting plenty of wild places, but never seen a bobcat in the wild. Now here I am hunting a little parcel in the suburbs, and along comes a bobcat! (And yes, I’m certain it wasn’t a house cat. Haha)

Sitting in the kestrel trying to figure out how you cretins still don’t hunt in a hybrid............it was 15% easier to take a leak just now, so there’s that. FD1E2A4D-7728-4182-A619-E2EEF706C950.jpeg

Just sitting here chuckling
