Live from the saddle 2019

Still waiting out here in zone 7. I pulled some cameras today. One small 8pt and a bunch of does.

Gotta Love that first hunt. Not smooth at all..lol.
I thought I did good with my entrance, should of grabbed my canoe, busted my butt and was sweating my ____ off.
I took the long way off the trail to hit another swamp transition, I paid the price.
At my destination, no hot sign but I was running late and needed to set up. I may of set up too close to known bedding as I could see it from just 12' up. I was pretty quiet... I just don't think I was, in your bedroom quiet.
Saw nothin but totally mint to be out there. I have not hunted my own state for 15 years at least. Glad to be back in game.
Pulled the local cam card- no bucks.

Eonpows are a mess... Anybody want some, I know a guy.

I did get a buck and doe down though :)

Nice! I used to race biathlon with a bunch of guys from n. Minnesota. You guys are alright... and understand what real cold is like we do in VT. Goodluck out there!
Same to you! Have a great , safe season

I’m sick to my stomach. I spent till dark looking for any signs of a lethal hit. He trotted off after the shot, stopped at about 60 yards and then trotted off into the thicket. I’m going back out tomorrow morning and grid search that thicket to ease my mind. Such a bad feeling to wound one
Sorry to hear this bud. Had you not traded teams on me it would have likely ended differently.

Btw, didn't use the trad gear for this one. I broke out the Mathews switchback 70#, 30" draw, 28.5" victory arrow, 125 grain 3 blade muzzy, 100 grain brass insert, jim fletcher release, diy saddle (sit drag, rock climbing harness), hss safety rope, fusion carabiners, diy climbing aid, mossy oak camo, diy deer hauler, dodge ram 1500 with hemi, oh yea and a glass of sweat tea. :)
