Made a quick set before dark, I needed to be in this spot, the gum tree to the left was way to big for my stick straps and platform strap, so I improvised. It worked good, had a small 8 point come by but I passed him. Got 1 buck tag and 4 doe tags left to fill by February 29thScreenshot_20200101-164813_Gallery.jpg

What happened with the hex folding leg platform?

Still got it, used it a few times this year and will continue to in places. This one is just a little more versatile when I'm not sure exactly what kind or size of a tree I'll be in. Gonna play with both designs this spring and try to get um a bit better.

20ft up in NW AR. Jumped about 6 deer hiking in. Checked 2 week cam and only had a feral hog walked by the scrape. Got up tree and either a deer or a hog walked by in the dark and is feeding around. Good luck to those that love/have the late season

Finally live from the saddle today.

Woke up late. instead of 4:30 it wa 5:45 in a pissed off panic.

Trekking to the spot I want I jump 5 does.

Get up in the tree and go to grab my sweatshirt. Didn't work out. It is now sitting at the base of the tree.

At least I'm out. Maybe things will pan out this morning.

Well here it is 60 degrees one of the warmest days I've hunted all season. Most likely the last hunt of the season for me. It was a good one but I wouldn't mind filling one more doe tag.

I'm only 8 feet up and expecting deer to come from my 6. Probably gonna have me a sore neck tomorrow.

First deer of 2020 from my jx3, over my left shoulder at my 7 o'clock. Doe at 22yds. Dropped right where I shot her. Zoom in top left of pic, lying next to tree. Was 68 degrees in lower New York yesterday and dropped to 45 today. Time for more venison sausage!

Found a disadvantage to hunting out of a saddle instead of a ladder stand.... the naysayers were right all along
