Live from the saddle 2020

Toxic by the one and only Britney came on on the way here at 4am this morning so the buck might as well just jump in the truck

Saw two giants. One came to 30 yards for about .5 seconds before catching the hot does trail who came through earlier with a basket 6 point. He had broke off all but one tine and was about 18” wide. He treated me to this view (in between two branches slightly above and to the left of my broad head)

Got in just in time after a 40 minute boat ride with not enough warm clothes on. Good luck and be safe to everyone out and about this morning.

On the ground this morning watching over the fields with my 06. Already had a cow horn at 50 yards. I will be in the saddle when the wind shifts around noon. Good luck ya'll.

Was pretty quiet right until I took out my phone to post this. Just had a doe go through, and right behind was a smaller 8pt. Went through too fast for a shot. But pretty cool either way!

Afternoon update, checked my 3 cameras and that cow horn is the biggest buck out here. If I see him tomorrow morning he may die. Moved to a different section of the land because the wind changed. The farmer 2 farms over is burning a huge pile of leaves and I am directly down wind.... Cover scent......CHECK.

3 does right at daylight this am. But could only really see them in the Binos. They walked off after a few minutes. Popped into a ladder stand after brunch sat down and like 30 seconds later a doe come hauling butt outta nowhere. I “let her pass” and waited to see what was chasing. She didn’t have my scent. But either he did or he didn’t exist.

Back in the saddle on my transition line and food plot.

Y’all be safe out there tonight!!!

Up in a tree enjoying the view. Been a slow rut so far by me with crazy weather but got a nice shot off at this buck two days ago. First deer taken with my 758 grain arrows. 12yd lung and liver quartering to shot and he didn't run at all so I'm pretty sure my old 350 grain arrows with disposable broadheads would have worked just a well lol.

And this guy came in on my right side. Had to walk a third of the way around the tree and swing my bow over the bridge. Felt like I was in a cirque du soleil performance!
