Live from the saddle 2021

Stopping for a mid scout lunch break then hiking out. Someone used like 5 cans of spray paint to mark a giant trail back in the woods here and has a cell camera in the middle of it. No, I didn't mess with the cam, but sheesh every frickin tree is orange.

What land is this mess on?

It was recommended to me by another member so I'm not able to say, it's "public".

Edited to add: sheesh found more walking out. There's at least a 2 mile line of spray painted trees, no exaggeration. At least I know a backup route out if I get lost, my phone dies, and I lose both of my compasses lol.

LFTS between two fresh scrapes. There are 4 bucks and some does using these scrapes a nd they have been using it the past few days at 5:30 am and 6:30 pm like clock work. I usually am timid when I fine this much sign and it hasn’t paid off. I see it, it’s fresh, im hunting it. I wrassled some small brush to give me a shooting lane to each scrape. Can’t hurt to try. It’s a logging road in some small pines which are very thick. I was going to just check my camera and head home for the day but decided I gotta try for these deer while they’re here. New tree on a property I’m pretty familiar with. Over a dried up creek bed with two trails intersecting. On the edge of a bedding area, with some rubs on the trail. Saw one doe to the left of this picture hauling the mail. Had a good feeling about this spot, I’ll be back in a few weeks. Nice night, finally wasn’t sweating.

Back to work tomorrow so getting my last hang in for the next four days. Got a bear in the area too, he left me a present in my tree and I watched him climb the hill earlier. Hoping the storm that came through yesterday gets them moving this evening.

Was hoping she had a buck in tow but nope!! Had another big doe under me on my afternoon sit in another spot. Didn't get a pic of her it was too dark out. Waiting for a buck.IMG-7393.jpg

For those at deer camp this weekend or geek out on this stuff, the upper 1/2 of the states should be able to see the aurora tonight. The forecast models should be updated in a few hours and can give forecasted viewing times then.
They're saying we could possible get a glimpse of them in the northern horizon as far south as oklahoma
