Update: went out 4 hours after the shot, got on good blood, some lung matter and bright, frothy, mucusy blood, then I crept to within 30 yds of where he apparently bedded and he got up and trotted away. He didn’t book it, and he gushed some more goopy red blood as he went, so at 180 yds of tracking I backed out and put in an SOS with my neighbor. Going to give him until about 9pm then hit the trail again, hoping he is dead as we speak. He’s hurt…bad. But my arrow seems to still be in him and my attitude is staying positive. He is for sure going to die, I just want to find him when he does.

Please take pictures of entry and exit, and provide shot distance and elevation to your set. It would mean a lot for guys learning where to aim.

He’s gonna die. You got him.

Will take pics once I find him. Shot distance 23-25yds, 20-22’ up in tree. We let him go for a long time, I’m getting back in the track around 10pm and hoping he’s down.

Are you going to live stream it on Saddlehunter.com ?
Tracked from 10:45-2:00, found one more spot of blood, looking like he stopped and stood to choose a path, but which path he chose was unclear in the dark. Marked last blood, about 250-280 yards from shot location. Going back in AM. We thought with a bright green Nockturnal in the dark woods, we’d have been able to see it glowing clearly out to 40+ yards even through thick cover, so I have to assume he’s either: 1. Dead and laying on the nock, or 2. still alive and in the next county. I’m still leaning towards fatal shot, as pretty much everyone who’s seen the video and/or pics I posted has said something like “decent shot, maybe a bit low but should be dead within 6 hours”. Blood looked great up until that last bit, which was bright red and thick but not very plentiful. Gunna try to get my wife out there tomorrow, her eye for blood is amazing. I’m stressed for sure.
