Outstanding, was wondering if the deer liked it as what I read said it was a bit toxic to humans. Good to keep an eye out for it.
 
Me Too! I'm sick of all this summer work. I'm ready for deer season to get here. I haven't done anywhere close to the amount of scouting I usually do post season. After 6(?) years on public I know a lot about the land now. I'm switching it up this year and only really plan to go scout out 2 main areas for the fall this summer. Aside from that, I plan to do much more in season scouting and see how that works. I did that a few years back and I was on more deer when it actually mattered.
 
I’m set up this morning on some KY public. I’ve been up here scouting this particular area a couple times in the last month. I know there’s at least 4 shooters in here, and several young bucks. I’m set up next to the only water hole around here. There’s beans in the bottom, about 350yds away, and bedding between this pond and the beans. As hot
as it is, they gotta come to this water eventually. A buddy of mine is set up down in the back corner of the beans. Access to there is sketchy, because you gotta walk thru the beans to get to it without blowing anything out. He said he went in clean. We got until Monday evening to make it happen. It’s supposed to be in the mid 60’s Monday morning, so that’ll probably be the day if it’s gonna happen. Theyre just not moving much in this heat, so we’re trying be aggressive and get as close to the bedding as possible.

I have 12 days until i can start the yearly harvest. Scored a new spot, private 40 acres right outside a residential suburban housing development with the single farm across the road from the property i gained access to. Farmer said i can retrieve any deer that may run over there. However, none will make it that far. These are "city" deer at best, they are use to human interaction and are everywhere. Hell, one night had 6 bucks on camera. Two are 140+ and if they are in velvet still i will put them down as a bucket list item. Outside that i told the property owner doe only and as many as i can take until that WMU sells out of tags. Planning on doing some donations from there for those in need as well.
 
5 trucks were here at public land parking lot before me. It's raining. YOLO

I didn't make it out for the AM (school drop off) but got out to one of the areas I've had success in the past by late morning. Not expecting much midday movement but I kinda just wanted to eat my lunch in a tree, watch the woods, and play "was that a squirrel?" (Spoiler-yes, it almost always is). May move this afternoon, may hang out here to observe, either way it's great being back in the deer woods during archery season
