There is the problem. The bolt is unsupported and taking the full load from the straps. The bolt should be in tension and the side force should be distributed over the versa buttons stem. That's just a poor design or lack of design...:mad:

Whyis bolt so long? All the straps really thick? Try the shortest bolt possible
 
Ok guys here is an easy fix no bolt stress, Put one of the strap on button and wrap around tree as usual, Now take it off button and run it through other end of strap and hook the end you ran through to button, You will have only one end on button, when tightened they pull directly against each other with no press or stress on button.

Did they say what bolt they were sending? Same? Or different?

Getting the same bolt that bent to reinstall would he about as satisfactory in my book as receiving another gen1 predator in exchange for a broken one.

Gonna send a Versa button thing he said. Current bolt is rated to 1100 pounds but if the straps are out in the tip of the bolt vs all the way back the leverage can bend it.

if it’s the same one it’s gonna bend just as fast.
 
I really want to like this platform but so far not a fan... hopefully they get something figured out. Will wait to see what the official fix is fro LWCG.

Not only did my bolt bend but it seemed like I was having a hard time getting the bottom of the platform to really bite into the tree... When I'd put pressure on the far outside edges or try to lean around with "outside" side pressure then the bottom end would want to kick out and I'm not sure I'd feel safe in the tree with it at this point.

I've had a Lone Wolf Alpha II hang on for 10 years or so and I've really really liked that stand and have always had a super rock solid connection so I'm familiar with the cam style attachment system etc...

Will try again when it's not 15 degrees without windchill outside :)
 
I sent him an email today expressing my dissatisfaction with the social media button and the one everyone was receiving being different and how some bolts were already bending. He called and left me a voicemail.
