Lonewolf Custom's Ambush

This was posted on fb. Not my image. Water jetting on the post is apparent but doesn't look that bad. The size looks good though.

I wish they would have turned the Ridge Runner around so it was facing the same direction as the other two. But, the RR is closer to the ambush size then I realized.

Just saw a post on facebook where the versa button bolt bent. I saw the same problem with a few of those on the LWCG stands too. Ridiculous.

I’ve been told they already have replacements ready based on some issues with the stands and sticks. The bolts they used passed stress tests. Sounds like they may also be rethinking the design - maybe something like the original versa button?

Alright so can only upload 1 pic so why not the one with the buck i took last wk

Impressions: very well made, feels very light, i did weight it with and without the strap and matches as advertised. I like how the silent touch coating feels. They did keep the top of the platform gritty for grip which is def smart.

I do see the button bolt is already bent a little, might just be the way it is set not sure. Doesnt’t look like it will break though so we shall see. If it does its a quick fix. I would figure if it does LWCG would send another so im not worried about it.

I like there are holes and posts that can be used to bungee my hawk helium modded sticks to platform. I plan on using a fanny pack on my waist and the platform and sticks on my back. When doing so the platform did touch my pack so gonna test a diff fanny pack i have tonight. Overall i like it and will be recieving my mantis tomorrow. First saddle deer soon to come hopefully. Plan on bowhunting during NY’s gun opener this wknd.

I just got notice that LWCG is going to send a replacement bolt. I haven’t even had a chance to unbox my ambush yet and they are already correcting the problem.

credit were credit is due. Way to go LWCG! Your customer service is appreciated.

Hunted out of mine the past couple of days and love it

Recieved my Ambush a couple days ago but couldn't find the time to pull it out of the box. I did find the time to read the reviews. Finaly got some time with it today. Like everyone else my versa bolt is off center but the rest of the platform looks good. After a once over I ran it out back and threw it on a medium sized cherry. She cammed over nicely and locked on tight. The next tree was a small cherry and again the stand was sold. No issues with the versa bolt bending. From there I took it to shooting height on my practice range tree.
Earlier this summer I converted to hunting with a ROS. The small platforms were somehow throwing off my shot accuracy on the week side. A ROS allows me to always shoot strong side and just feels right. I didn't think I would even want another platform but this one has had my attention since last ATA show.
With that said I practiced week side only from the ambush. My shots were accurate and comfortable. My only complaint from the first test run was a slight popping noise when you hang hard to one side. I examined it back at the house and decided that it must be a loose support arm bolt or the metal on metal contact from the adjustment bolt. So, i gave the support arm bolt a couple turns and put some stealth strips under the adjustment bolt thing. Dont know what to call it so that's what it is. Regardless, no more pop. I shot for a little over an hour and loved the comfort and confidence the platform provides. From there I put the backpack straps on and used some gear Ties and a cam jam to place four Dan O DIY stick on vertically. They fit and ride perfect. Still looking for the best stick attachment method though. I might just be the first to say it, but I really like the Ambush! Are there any others out there?

I guess I got lucky and I don't have the issues other people were having. I used it for the first time tonight and I love it. I think I might put some stealth strips on it where you did and where the post comes into contact with the platform when it's folded. It took side pressure well and I found that with all the room it has it was better for sitting also.

Sounds like it’s suiting you well. Out of curiosity, how much do you weigh?

I’m curious to get a 250Lb+ fella’s perspective on it. It’s definitely a lot less material than the original assassin, and I’m interested to see how all the connection points, and the perimeter of the platform perform under some extra stresses...

I'm about 225. It does flex a little on the outside corners but nothing to be nervous about.

#3046 last night.. @shwacker and I had to be one of the first few.

I think you confused me with someone else. I don’t believe I have purchased one of these. Then again I buy a lot of stuff and don’t remember half of it till I open the box from UPS...
