Looking for knife recommendations

I need a new knife for deer hunting. I used Benchmade up until last year when I bought a Cutco. After cleaning my 4 this year I have grown to hate the Cutco. I went on base and looked at the Benchmades then thought I would look for recommendations elsewhere first. I’m willing to pay a good amount for the right knife, that will last. I don’t mind sharpening knives, but it has to be able to make it through a couple smaller deer without extreme dulling. Guthook is a non-issue, if there okay, if not okay. I have smallish hands, and kill Bambi’s, so no Kabar sized knives. Decent sheath leather or Kydex is a must.

Any helpwould be awesome, as the only stores around me are Wally World, Academy, and ****s. Cabelas/Bass Pro is about an hours drive, and I hate going in those stores (personal).

Also, if anyone wants to buy an awesome Cutco 5717KP with DD edge and guthook for a great price (compared to retail) give me a shout. I’ll let it go cheap and will get factory sharpened before mailing out.

Thanks.

Havalon hydra red is what is in my kill kit...https://www.havalon.com/hydra-brick-red-60a115sw. Freaking scary sharp.

Mora neck knife...wicked sharp, holds an edge that's unbelievable and easy to resharpen or touch up. https://www.industrialrev.com/morak...-knife-mint-m--13855?returnurl=/morakniv/new/

Mora Garberg stainless...this is on my saddle...just in case I need to cut something quick. https://www.industrialrev.com/morak...poly-sheath-m--13715?returnurl=/morakniv/new/

Custom knife...to many to list. However I have several of Todd Orr's knives. Skyblades.com

Check out Bark River Knives. They stay razor sharp through SEVERAL deer. I’m talking field dressing and processing.

I own two Benchmade, one Ka Bar, various cheap ones, and a Bark River Fox River and a Bark River Lil Caper. The Lil Caper never leaves my side. They are hand down for generations type knives, love them.

If you want a folder:

Spyderco Stretch

Do not buy from Spyderco online store. The MSRP is inflated. I like Cutlery Shoppe.

This is the knife that the founder of Spyderco designed for himself for deer hunting. The ergos and blade shape are close to perfect for me for deer and the VG10 steel is at a sweet spot between durability and ease of sharpening. Made in Japan, so at least it is made by friends.

Spyderco also has made in the USA knives that are slightly more. The highest quality Spyderco knives (ironically?) are made in Taiwan in the shop of a famous sword maker. Quality and price for spyderco by country of origin are (from lowest quality/price to highest): China, Japan, USA, Taiwan.

I've owned Benchmades also, and I prefer Spyderco.

Iron will outfitters makes 2 knives, both fixed blade. Steel is the same hardened A2 they make their broadheads out of. I have the K1 with the composite handle and have been very happy with it.

I highly recommend D-2 steel or 440-C. The Knifes of Alaska Jaeger is probably my favorite knife. They take a bit longer to sharpen, but hold an awesome edge for multiple deer. I also just got a FieldTorq knife specifically for field dressing and it looks great!

I bought an Outdoor Edge Swingblaze on a whim 7-8 years ago. It's my favorite now. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's like cleaning a folding knife.

I don't know if you can find one but I have an Ensign Designs knife and love it. I've never had a knife hold an edge as well, much better than my Benchmade's. They were made in the '70's but pop up for sale from time to time.

I really like these Gerber Vitals. They are nice, compact folders. The replaceable blades are great and no need to worry about having the blade sharpe when you need it.

If you are looking for a folding knife that is amazing bang for your buck, look at kubey knives on amazon 30 to 40 bucks, d2 steel, nice handles and tight construction, you would think they were made by ZT.

I really like Rapid River Knifeworks in the U.P of Michigan. Esee knives are also good for more “tactical” style or survival knives. I have an Esee for camping and bushcraft stuff, it’s as tough as nails.

Pretty hard to beat this . Fits in your pocket. Stays sharp. Gut hook works awesome. At end of season send it back for there free Sharping and cleaning. Best hunting knife I have owned for the last 6 years or so.

A few I really like in no order:
Kestrel skinner or caper.
Rainer Fastpack (great value $100).
Benchmade Altitude.
