Lost/Left Behind/Forgotten

You been getting on hogs? I haven't seen hide nor hair on one all year.

Had some spook off in the dark once my kayak hit land, and first morning of deer season seen my first in the wild. Still kicking myself for not paying attention in the moment on that hunt.

Almost lost a buddy's Beretta PX4 during a 3AM deuce...

It ate me up all day the next day until I finally found it, I was less upset about having to spend the cash to replace it than I was about the principal of buying a BERETTA lol

I haven't had a problem losing things in the field, now at home is a different story!

I’ve lost a large pile of gear. Lost a s&w model 60 in 357 hog hunting once but found it after a three hour search. Mostly small things. It took my wife a while to learn not to buy me camo gadgets. It’s hard enough to find chrome or blaze orange let alone camo.

Left my 2 week old bow grass by the parking lot an hour away. Realized it when I was unpacking after I got back.
That’s when I learned I could cut that hour drive down to about 35-40 minutes if I really needed to.

Bungees and straps are the most common for me. I lost a quiver with 5 arrows once., that was probably the most expensive item. O forgot a tether this year but on private so that was easy to find.

Lost an expensive pair of prescription glasses last year. I THINK I laid them on the bumper of the truck while getting changed after an evening hunt. Drove 15 miles home, put everything away, went to look at phone and then the panic set in. Crappy thing is, I distinctly remember telling myself NOT to set my Glock on the bumper, didn't want to forget it was there and drive away........

I lost an ez-kut force pruner earlier this year while checking cards. Was about back to the truck so I backtracked a little over a mile looking for it with no luck. A week later I was walking out and spotted about a quarter sizes patch of orange underwater in the sand. Sure enough, there it was. Rinsed it off and oiled it and it's in perfect condition. You would never know it was under water a week.

I went hunting with a guy that took out his false teeth and laid them on the truck rail, took off and dropped them in parking lot. It was a military hunt so we could not get back in to look for them. Had to call the mp's and they went and found them and had to mail them to him... i was loosing it...

Ihad a zipper fail on my backpack last season and my keys feel out..... Followed my saved track on the gps phone app and found them in under 2 hours

Edit....
Oversized drinking straw used as a bushing prolongs the life of these things...they've saved me more than once

I used to have this problem but finally I started carrying the same stuff every time in all exact same compartments and doing everything in the same order.

I think the biggest help is putting everything away where it goes for next hunt at the end of the last. Never any question if you have everything.

I lost my wallet once turkey hunting. Killed a bird, pulled out my tag from my wallet. Was the last time I ever saw it. That was years ago, wife still gives me hell about it.
I also have a bag full of left handed gloves. I keep them just Incase I ever lose a left handed one, then I’ll have another pair. Not sure why I only lose right gloves???

Me too.:)

Lost an arrow walking out in the dark through some thick stuff after my first sit. Lost my gear strap, mini binders and s binders the next weekend. Lost my hero clip bow hanger 2 weeks ago and Lost one of my camo gloves last weekend while scouting. This addiction is expensive enough to be losing this much stuff.

I temporarily lost the 1st custom knife my stepfather ever made back in the late 60s. He was a very well known custom rifle maker, stock maker and gunsmith and he had just given me that knife for my birthday before I went to WY on a DIY antelope hunt. Well, while quartering up the 'lope, I set it on my bumper and lowered the tailgate. After I couldn't find it I was on my hands and knees, searching through sage brush and prairie rattlers, trying to find that knife. I was practically in tears because I knew how much it meant to him to give it to me. After a few hours, and with the sun setting, I finally gave up to return the next day. When I shut my tail gate, there it was. Shining like a diamond in a goat's ass. I felt extremely stupid, but had the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders.

Most recently, I lost an arrow out of my quiver in some crazy ass briars.

Freaking bow hangers! I like to have my hook about a foot overhead. If I dont pull it immediatly after taking my bow down, it's getting left. 4 of them this year alone! I rarely hunt the same tree twice.
