Lost/Left Behind/Forgotten

My very first saddle hunt I hooked my Predator platform to molle clip on back of saddle while climbing down. Was in a hurry so just left it there, and hiked a mile back to truck in the dark bushwhacking through forest with no trail. Somewhere along the way the clip broke, and platform was gone. Very little chance to find it... Went back next morning to attempt retracing my steps. Impossible... Wandered around aimlessly in the general area for 3 hours, and actually found it!

I’m also notorious for driving away with stuff sitting loose on the back rack of my atv. My phone, a pack of 8 WE steps, binoculars, truck keys, etc. Drove many miles before noticing, sometimes not until hours later. Found them all! I knew they were on the road/trail somewhere, and luckily no other vehicles had passed and picked them up before I could get back.

Forgot ammo on one rifle elk hunt. Left gun in truck and hunted normally anyway. No shot opportunities that day, so it made no difference, and I still enjoyed the hunt.

Two days ago the chasing and cruising was real good during a light rain. After crawling through brush in the dark, I got to the tree and my tether pouch was empty. I did the long walk of shame to get my backup out of the truck. Don't forget to close your pouches!

In October, I left my crossbow by the side of the trail. My mind was occupied with dragging a deer. I remembered a few moments later and went back and got it.
I left a paracord loop around a tree a week ago. I swore I was going to be back the next day. I hope it is still there.
I went back and looked for the tree with the paracord. One day, I looked for about 30 minutes then climbed a tree and hunted the rest of the day. I went back the next day and walked around for an hour and finally found the tree. How does everyone find presets again? GPS?

Ive lost enough stuff in the woods & by streams to fill a small tackle store over the years

In 2007 I was hunting over a mile back on public land in northern Michigan. I shot a buck and I was headed back in the dark to meet my friend. I stopped to relieve myself and I set down my brand new Mathews Switchback XT. I walked off without it and I didn't realize it until I got to my car and went to put my bow in my case. Needless to say I didn't sleep much that night. Thankfully the next day I found my bow and the buck. I was very nervous that I wouldn't find it. Losing stuff stinks!

I was walking out one morning after a morning sit. Stopped along the way to check a trail camera. Got out to the road and realized I left my bow sitting where I checked the camera. Felt like such an idiot!

I've had to borrow a buddy's metal detector twice to recover my favorite gutting knife. The usual culprits are gloves and shooting glasses.
