Ordering my first saddle setup and not sure which saddle I should get. One of my main concerns is being able to walk in with my saddle without it getting uncomfortable or in the way. Ill be one sticking with a platform and picture myself being a leaner more then a sitter.

Cruze XC is the saddle I see being most recommended but it seems like the seat is very large covering from above mid thigh to pretty high up on the low back. I know that is good for sitting comfort but looks like it could possibly be a negative to hike in with on.

I looked at the CGM sidewinder and Ape Canyon Pioneer and both of these look like good options for walking in as the seat isn’t so large and can be collapsed for walking in. Any thoughts?

Look hard at the CGM Cobra…. It has the ability for the bottom to be stored upwards, making the profile walking in almost unnoticeable. Plus it’ll work great for one sticking and all day sits.

I have only had one saddle, ape canyon land barron lite. But a friend has a trophy line. His buckles get loose about 5 steps from the truck. Has to wear suspenders. Mine stays tight , never moves. Haven't had a problem walking around in mine.

I would second the CGM Cobra. The ability to have to fold down so small walking in, but also the pleat that expands and makes it such a comfy saddle. Plus they will customize and put any fabric you want on the saddle to make it one of a kind! Their facebook has some crazy saddles people have had made in wacky patterns/fabrics.

I second the CGM and the Ape Canyon Pioneer for low profile. I would also throw in Dryad Saddles by Drey if you want real low profile. Also while I think they are uncomfortable, a lot of people think they are comfortable, as in the Tacticsaddle. Look at the Dryad or Tactisaddle if you are looking for low profile.

Thank ya'll for the replies. The cobra looks great but I'm thinking I would prefer a smaller saddle without a pleat as my lower back hurts with sitting for long periods. I think that would be the case sitting in a saddle with my low back very rounded in somethign like a cruzr or cobra with more of a large pleated seats that hold you more like a hammock if seated. For that reason I think I'll be a primarily a leaner so I want something with a smaller seat and which is another reason the pioneer and sidewinder look good to me.
I could also be totally wrong on this and in that case I think the cobra would be what I would try next.

Have you ruled out a Two panel model?
I have a Method 2 and several times I have got it the truck to drive home and still had it on. Do not know it is there and I think it is extremely comfortable. I raise the top panel to my lower back and spend most of my time leaning. My saddle is the only thing I have only bought one of and don't see a need to try anything else.

IMO, pair a good pleated saddle like a Cobra or Cruzr with a good wide backband like the one from Lattitude or CGM, and there’s enough support there to almost eliminate any back issues. More fabric…more support….equals more comfortable.

Take a look at the latitude maverick. Easy to fold under and walk in. Very light and I like the wide band under seat.

I have an original Latitude Method saddle with the buckle belt. I have also got to my truck after hunting and got in to drive home then realized I still had it on. Walking with it on it is none noticeable. As to leaning or sitting the upper portion of the saddle acts as a back band and while leaning and then a back support when sitting. I only adjust the bottom panel when transferring from leaning to sitting. I have 3 compressed disk in my lower back with a right hip replacement and left knee replacement. This saddle works well for me and is comfortable walking, leaning and sitting.
