Lumenok help...

I just tried lumenoks for the first time and it didn’t go well. Nocks got stuck in the shaft and and wouldn’t turn off no matter how much wiggling I did. The instructions say to wax/sand the nocks to make them fit. Any body have any experience that might help me?

Roll up a small tube of fine sandpaper, insert, sand, recheck. Be careful to take a little at a time or the nocks will be too loose. There is a sweet spot.

I think I may have used a razor knife to shave some of the plastic off. I think there may be 3 raised ridges running parallel for shaving to fit. Hope I'm not misleading you, it's been a while. They did have a video or two about it,

Sooo, that one's dead. Yank it out. Double check specs of your nocks to diameter of shafts. As others said prolly have to sand a bit or trim the ridges. If you make them too loose run a piece of thread/dental floss across the mouth of the shaft then shove the nock in. Or you can stretch a baggie across the mouth. That works too.

Thanks for this little tip. I had a few that were really tight and this helped better than trying to scrape them with a blade or the wax method they suggest.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Had to use a drill to pull out the insert. Never using lumenok again. I've had more problems with their nocks. If nocturnal could just figure out how to get replacement batteries they would be perfect.

Lumenoks are junk. I've personally seen them fail, and you read about it online all the time too. Just switch to nocturnals. Nocks are the most important part of the arrow, not a place to cheap out. How far are you really trying to shoot an animal? It's not going to make a difference in your POI at hunting ranges, so just practice with normal nocks. If you're really trying to shoot deer at 80 yards or whatever, just buy two sets and practice with the ones that run dead, and swap in good ones for the season.

I had nocktournals fail last year. Broke of when the arrow passed through a deer.
I just discovered glory nocks. I haven’t tested them much, but so far they seem to be just what I was looking for. Guy at the local shop said they were made by the inventor or nocktournals.

Be aware that Glory Nocks are very fat and most of the time require redoing your Dloop to account for the width. I got some just before season and wasn't going to redo my Dloop right before season so I can't comment further on them.
