LWCG stand setups

I carry my .5, DIY sticks (essentially beast sticks) and a small backpack for critical items. It’s super lightweight and effective.

Lately, I feel like the stand with backpack straps has been causing me some back pain. Just turned 36 so might just be getting old. I may need to toy around with real backpack straps to avoid this. I have 12 days of rut hunting starting Wednesday and I don’t need back pain lol

Maybe a load bearing waist belt would help to get the weight off your shoulders?

For sure. I backpack hunt out west so that’s what I will try. I also think the flatness of stand against back is partial cause. I hunt with a stone glacier X-Curve for out west and have zero pain. Fits like a glove. Did 10 days in Montana this year with it and was fine.

That’s why I’m convinced it’s the straps and angle of stand on back.

:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: Good one.

i put XOP waist belt and its all good. still not a real backpack feel, but much mo betta. and i'm 58.

Can you post/pm some pictures of how you have them attached? What length stick?

I don’t have a pic on my phone with beast sticks.

But this is the general idea. I have the shockcord with loops attached to the front of the seat frame over the sticks and loop hooks tie the hooks on the back of the seat frame. When not in use is cross them other the seat to the opposing hook.

Still waiting on my .5. Ordered it on the 21st and the ship estimate was 5 to 7 business days at that point. Now on the website it says 4 to 6 weeks. I emailed them last Wednesday at business day 7. Crickets chirping so far...

I ordered a Fix when it said 3-5 days, 2 weeks later it changed to 2-3 weeks. Its been 4-5 weeks since I ordered. I havent emailed them, but Im assuming it just the time of year where everything slows down. Theyve been good on everything else, so no complaints as Im not in a rush.

I have ordered sticks and a few other things after ordering the Fix, and they all shipped pretty quick though.

Edit: Shipped today.

Hum...may give them a call later. Ordered it in large part to the 5 to 7 day ship time, lol. Four to 6 weeks from now it won't be a lot of use this season since the leaves will be gone and with them low cover, I envisioned the stand to be useful in.

i put some buckles on mine and carry them vertical. 24" is too long to carry horizontal. check out my pic above. 1" strapping that we all have and some amazon buckles for cheap. holds everything rock solid. i can send more pics if any interest.

The innovating the outdoors strap hanger is pretty cool add on to a hang on hunters setup. Weights nothing. Even with the .5 being light, on certain trees it’s just easier. Then when you’re done it’s nice because I take my stand off the tree. Put it on my back and my strap it still hanging there and I simple unhook it. Then put it on my saddle. I’m

Ok, so I called them about not responding to my email, which ironically is what they say is the best way to reach them according to the voice message.

I had an email reply waiting when I got in this evening. It went as follows:

"Thank you for your order and for reaching out! Unfortunately, we are experiencing a delay with manufacturing the bases for the DS.5's. Because of this, we are looking at a 4-6 week lead time. This would be based on your order date. We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience as we work to get these into our shop."

Me: "So you didn't have any in stock when you quoted me 5 to 7 business days shipping? You were selling something you didn't have? A large part of my decision to buy the stand now was that it was available. Four to six weeks is a lot of deer season."

Why do we put up with this sort of thing? I mean really? Consider this. Let's say I put an ad in the classifieds on here saying I have a stand to sell. I say in the ad that I will ship in 5 to 7 days. You contact me and send me your money. You don't hear anything for ten days. You email me. I don't respond. You call me. I then email you and say it will be 4 to 6 weeks. I wonder if I would be banned as a scammer.

Just disgusted.

I do the same and also have the pack hanger on the strap. The shock cord holds weight good enough to where it holds the TX5 EOP I have until I get the stand stowed away and seat back into a shelf.

I have a .5 and a 1.0. Both use kifaru straps and a hlyqe tatical belt from amazon. Comfort has been an issue. i did some testing and for me the issue is the gap between the seat and the tree that makes the seat uncomfortable. I found that a tree that leans back makes it comfy. The top bracket needs 1/2 -1 inch more distance. I put a wood spacer betwen the tree and the top bracket and that made it comfy. Did this at ground level to test, so dont try that at height or you will fall. I have altrnated between my tethrd ones and cat tracks. I am using a leech pack.
Do to a hand injury i wont be doing to much hunting this year.

Sorry about the hand. When I was young that's what I used to worry about, hurting myself at work and missing opening week.

Finding a tree that slightly leans away from where I want to put the stand is what I always look for. Makes the comfort 10x better.

That’s cuz it makes that tiny .5 platform seem bigger…lol

I snapped up a .5 from marketplace last week. I have over 50 hours in it already. I’m really enjoying it as a hybrid setup. Of course I’ve already paracord wrapped it and added a thicker seat cushion. The thin factory cushion looked like a pancake ran over by a concrete truck after a 13hr all day sit.

I have the stand either strapped to a small badlands day pack (under a mile) or in my stone glacier x curve for anything longer.

Anyone ever attempt to turn the compacts into doubles?

Just grabbed 2 (older version compacts) and going to change the top step to 2 steps like they have on the newer version with some older Lone Wolf steps.

…stay tuned.
