LWCG stand setups

You guys with the double steps… when you stack them and straddle that center post is there place on that stand that helps hold them in place, do you just strap them down if not, those mini single step sticks lock down nice, about the only reason I’m keeping them versus switching to all doubles, or maybe I will..

If you use Beast or LW mod sticks with double steps, you can take the end of the step and wedge it in the triangles cut in seat post. It locks them in at bottom, then use a strap mid stick. They won’t move an inch. I lock mine in those triangles right above the seat when in shelf position.

I've got a bunch of their gear.
1.0, .75 with tall post and mesh seat, standard .5 and the Fix. For sticks I have a set of full length, 20" doubles, and 17" compacts.
I carry everything in a Kifaru Stryker XL with Sherman on the back of the Stryker and Rogan attached below the Sherman.
The .75 fits on the Stryker shelf and sticks under the Sherman.
The .5 plus 4 17" compacts fit on the Stryker shelf.
The fix hides in the shelf and I can carry the sticks vertical or horizontal under the Sherman.

I hunted a bunch this season. Used the 1.0 once and left it up the tree I hunted the remainder of the season.
Ran the .75 a few times. This is the best hang on stand I've ever used. It's as close to perfect as I've found.
Did the hybrid .5 saddle combo a bunch. I don't use a seat pad and like to wedge my knee pad between the upright aluminum seat and tree. The cables on .5 get in the way at times. I like to lean and didn't like being that far off a tree but it's nice to stand on and take weak side shots. I rarely sat on the seat. I'm more comfortable sitting in my saddle with the feet on the stand.
I love the Fix. No complaints. I hunted the Fix 85% of the season.
I just ordered a Ridge Runner 2.0. It looks like a good back-up to the Fix or when I leave the Fix in tree and hunt somewhere else the next day or so.
I'm going to sell the 1.0. Probably locally sometime this summer.

For sticks, I thought I would like the doubles more than the OG style but they all have their place I guess. 2 of my 4 full size sticks have 20" cable aiders. Awesome option when you need to get high. 2 of the 17" sticks have 17" cable aiders. I use these the most. The doubles have cable aiders too... just seems like when I went to grab sticks the doubles were left behind more often.

Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll shoot ya my opinion.

The web site says 1 lb 9 oz. Someone else on this site said 1 lb 10 oz.
I ordered some of the 17" today by the time I add a daisy and cable aiders I am expecting 2 lbs.
Yea I was dumbly considering selling my 17” and getting 14” to save a few ounces. Probably not worth it.

When I weighed mine in March (with grommets)
17's = 1lb 12.2oz (1.65oz per inch)
20's = 1lb 13.9oz (1.5oz per inch)

So about 2oz per additional 3" of stick.

Vs 14s (1.86oz per inch) thats:
1/2 lb more for a set of 4 17s, with 1 foot of additional height
1lb more for a set of 4 20s, with 2 feet of additional height

My 14" doubles are somewhere around 1lb 9oz with button if I recollect correctly.

I think the new design single step sticks with the machined buttons might be a little heavier.

Just received my new .5 stand setup with beast one stick and bat platform's. Stick is 2.31 with out aider. The new .5 has a lot better edges than the older ones. Screenshot_20230125-065554_Gallery.jpg

Do you have a pic of the Stryker and the .75 as you described above?

The Stryker series isn't my favorite with the LWCG stands. Without modification, the solid panel shelf prevents the bag from being drawn in as close as it could, were the seat able to slide under the pack. And running the seat vertically detracts from the small profile of the .5, so it's not special that way either.

Would the 14” compacts be 3” shorter than the 17” folded up/flat or is there something in the design that makes it a different overall length?

i ask because I wouldn’t mind finding a small light pack that I could slap my sticks in after a hunt and go. I don’t like messing around after dark in an area I don’t wanna mess up. Maybe bungee the sticks together and then pack them the rest of the way at the car.

Not sure what you are asking. But on my .75 the grommet holes are 14 7/8" apart. I ordered 17" sticks because I don't think the 14" will stack.

In this configuration the 14” sticks would be 3” shorter than the 17” right? Like the overall length. I just wasn’t sure if how they were built made it different than what seems to be self explanatory ha

After tinkering with my .75 I think I'll set it up two different ways depending on temperatures.

If temps will be above 45 most of the day I'll probably just carry it in with the LWCG straps and strap my layers straight to the stand and use a Kifaru claymore to carry in the few additional items I need. I can also use the claymore to attach my beast sticks to the stand as well

If temps are below 45 I'll take my sitka cargo box and just strap the stand to my pack. Beast sticks attach to the bottom of the pack and this configuration allows me to remove the sticks without taking off the pack
