I decided to make my own platform. It's similar to the artisan but turns away from the stick. This gives much more foot room on top of it. 12 in x 4 in area and the aluminum is 1/4 in thick. I bought a stock piece of aluminum 6061 angle metal to make it. It was around 2.5 pounds before drilling all the holes in it. Finished weight was 1 pd 14 oz. Because of the thickness, its very sturdy, no give. The sticks in the picture are 2 step Xop's. Sticks plus the platform is a little over 9 pounds. I will probably do the lighter dano's double step sticks when I can afford it to shed another pound or two. Total cost counting grade 8 5/16 bolts was under $30. Im very satisfied with the outcome just hate that Im done hunting for the year now.

Looks good. I made something similar but it kicked from side pressure. I added a 2nd strap lower. Probelm solved.

I may just pack a ratchet strap and really torque it down after setting the stick with the main strap.

That will work. I made my own because I couldn't find one. In the end, I sold it to a buddy. I found a Predator online and he needed a platform. It worked for him all season. He also found a Predator and sold his DIY platform.

I built this one because the straight scout's were always out of stock and the one I made is bigger/nicer. Saved $40-50 too.

Where did you get your metal from? Was it 4”x4”? I’ve been trying to find a way to make my own for the top of my helium and this looks pretty great.

Picked up the metal on ebay. It is 4 in both directions and 12 in long. 1/4 in thickness. You could make it work on about any stick including the heliums, just different mounting bolt holes.

Looks good! would recommend adding some skate tape to it, it will squeak when your boots are wet . You should also consider taking a course file or angle grinder and adding treading around the edges
