Damn, I really want to buy one just because I'm considering rapelling down this fall. You guys are gonna get me killed by the wife!

Thanks. Got a backup. Coupon code CAMPER10 for another 10% off, too.

Me too. Haven’t even received the one I ordered from DanO yet and was considering ordering another for a backup at that price.

Anyone use the Lifeguard from madrock? Says it has a spring. I was gonna buy a safeguard to. But you guys got them all first.
I saw some lifeguards on sale. Curious if they work the same? Reviews said they are a little touchier..

Well. Saw online a few guys use them. Moosejaw has them for 68$ plus there have a climbing sale. Fyi. I stopped there.

By design the lifeguard allows a certain amount of rope to feed freely through it in a belay situation. It isn’t constant engagement thus the spring. The safeguard is springless and is designed not to allow that small amount of rope to feed freely before engaging. Spend the extra and get the safeguard if you can’t find it at the sale price.
