we lost an archer here in oregon .hunting may be a sport but its not a game you are in the wild.a man walked up on a bull elk he had shot and tracked was not care full and was scured by those four foot antlers.my condolences to his family.we do this for fun comradery and memories.stay on your toes even prey animals have the home terf addvantage

My condolences to his family and friends as well.

I'll just point out that a whitetail (especially a mature buck) can easily seriously wound you as well. I usually throw a big stick at them once close enough and then poke them hard with a long branch when a bit closer. A lot of guys on video walk right up on them.

thats verey true .here on the west side if you are atacked by a black bear it will kill you and wont stop until you are dead .they will eat you alive and kicking if they are hungry they are just happy to get a bite.in a heard they run around killing in surplus.we have a four month long bear season and hunting them is not a game

rosivet bull get up to 1000 pounds .can easily kill you with a hoove .grow 4 5 6 foot horns.and on rare.. occasion make it clear they are not scared of you.within 10 feet of you many hunters crumble to there knees in fear.can stand let alone draw.happened to my parter .blul was on the opposite side of an old growth stump 4 feet away and buggled.a freind from work was in a stampeede and quit archery hunting all togetther .keeps his distance with a 300 winmag

i work with another old timer who years ago was tracking a mulie his dad winmaged far back and left overnight. it scured him to the ground breaking his ribs and the only reason he is still hear is due to the width of the rack with no eyegards.he and his brother who was with him thought he was dead for sure.same man had a spike bull oposite side of an oldgrowth tree and when it stepped around he let one off. arrowed it and his arrow diddnt even clear his riser
