It's been a long time since I did some honest diy work.
I bought a shot gun for my son to use Turkey hunting, but he's a little guy and the stock was way too long. So I took an old stock from an 870 youth model and after some carving and paint, I think he's ready to go!

Is that a H&H or a Rossi? What scope do you have on it?

It's a Stevens .410 with a vortex sparc II .

The gun was super affordable. $175, and is specifically made for TSS Turkey loads.

Great work! Don’t be a stranger........ great turkey gun. I put together a 20ga for my daughter a few years ago & haven’t taken my 12ga back out since!

Great job Ernie, it looks great!

I've got an old 20ga BPS that my daughter has kind of inherited. It works great for her because she's a lefty and the bottom eject and ambidextrous thumb safety work well for her. Only issue is the stock length. I've been toying with the idea of doing something similar for years.

I got for the mossberg 500 flex. It's like a transformer. 1 pin and it can go from traditional stock to pistol grip to adjustable stock. With a couple different barrels and stocks I can make it fit my kids or wife or myself.

Lol of this didn't work, I was on my way to buy that one!

I got the same gun for Christmas this year in a 20 gauge. Need to shoot it yet but a really nice gun for the money especially since you don’t have to spend another 30 or 40 for a choke.

I got the red dot dialed in. Now to take him to the range so he can shoot. I was get surprised how much more dense the TSS load was than lead. Both #9 shot

Hard to beat a hammer gun like that for teaching a kid about gun safety too. The visual of the hammer is nice for the parent/mentor too and you know that they can't chamber one on accident after firing. Steve Rinella talked about his son using only a single shot shotgun for training in a recent Meateater podcast

I have an ithaca m-66 break open single shot I wanted to start the kids with but just like the original poster....way to big for them. It has to much sentimental value to me to alter or modify. When I was little my dad started me with a single shot Winchester. 22 and the ithaca when I was big enough to handle it. Single shot are so much fun to shoot

Nice job. I was going to ask about the hand rest on the forearm, as well.
