Maryland Saddle Shootout Live 2020 Cancelled

Depending on where you have it spurs and bolts may be legal. Unless a specific WMA has more restrictive regulations, spurs and bolts bare legal on MD State Forest property.

You can add me to the list, and I will most likely have 1 ( possibly 2) guests with me.
We’re most likely gonna be at a state park, so it’s gonna be no dice for spurs & bolts, I’ll confirm though....,

On second thought, even if legal, It still might be a good idea to avoid them. There's a difference between having a few trees full of holes in the middle of thousands of acres and having a few trees full of holes next to a pavilion for everyone to see.

Exactly what I was thinking, they gave us the side eye last year w/legal methods.

I don't know about Chesapeake Forest lands. There is more info in this thread.

MD DNR has no regulations against spurs or bolts, other then whatever you put in the tree has to be removed at the end of the day. Specific WMA's or parks may have more restrictive rules though.
Might have to look into a set of spurs now. Would predrilling holes for bolts be considered constructing a permanent stand though? That's a bit of a gray area

Does anyone know if anyone will be bringing the tactisaddle? Just saw a video on this and I’d love to try it out if anyone is brining one.

Just found out I have a commitment for the evening of the 28th. I'm still planning on being there for a couple of hours but, the farther West you have it, the longer I can stay! ;)

4 days after my daughters due date sooo... I think I'll pass and choose to live another deer season

My father went on a two week Colorado elk hunt two days after my sister was born. I would have been two years old at the time. He's still married 37 years later but, I can assure you that if I would have left my wife home with a two year old and a newborn, when I returned staying married would have been the least of my worries.
