I use both. I’m curious to know if saddle hunters are using mechanical or fixed broadheads

Used to be a Rage Hypodermic guy. Now I'm a Muzzy fixed blade guy. Still keep a Rage in the quiver just in case though :)

Original Rage. They are devastating and I even had the pulverize a shoulder of a doe at 50yds.

Been using Havocs (mechanical), but switching to fixed (Strikers) this year, and maybe trying some others as well. Might give the Dead Meat mechanicals a try...was noticing some penetration and/or deflection issues with the Havocs. Bumped up arrow weight this year as well, so should get better penetration all around.

Currently using 100 gr Ramcat Diamondback fixed 3 blades. May switch to Magnus Black hornet ser razors this week.

Slick Trick magnums for me (fixed). Killed a buck last week with one and it did the job. Good blood trail too.

I went up in arrow weight this year, as well as switching from a 5mm shaft to a 4mm shaft. I'll be shooting the Montec G5 3-blade broadheads this year. Really looking to get more penetration and I think this will do the trick. Being a small guy playing college sports has its repercussions (blown out shoulder) so I've got a lower poundage right now. Hoping the thinner, heavier shaft along with a fixed blade will give me the penetration I'm looking for.

Depends on draw weight but I prefer mechanical. They fly better with less tuning.

I have both Sevrd and Slick Trick in my quiver. I flip flop between the two. Something tells me to use the Slick Trick but I am curious about the Sevr

All of my archery kills have been with mechanical (rage hypodermic) so I know they work, but I like the idea of non-disposable heads so am shooting fixed blade (tooth of the arrow) again this year.

Switched to mechanical a couple years ago for deer. I have been happy with improved blood trails and shorter track jobs. Traditional still prefer fixed cut on contact.

Fixed 2 blade with bleeder....so i guess technically it's a 4 blade or just 2 blades. Magnus, tuff head, bishop......real steel that will last a lifetime.
I shot a deer over the weekend with a dirtnap single bevel and it was extremely lethal but had some damage to the head.... I'll return it for a new one (lifetime warranty) but won't buy those again.

My main broadheads will be Black Hornet Ser Razors. They fly well and are stupid sharp out of the pack. Not to mention a lifetime warranty behind them. That being said, I did buy some Chinadermics. I have one in my quiver that I will use if I get the opportunity. More for curiosity sake to see how they perform for the price. I like the simplicity of a fixed head but like that mechanicals are more forgiving and can leave gaping holes.

Used to use only rage but personally seeing two heads not open I switched back to fixed heads and do t have to worry about them opening or not
