I figured out how to allow everyone who is chomping at the bit to purchase their upgrade to do it prior to the old one expiring. So you guys are free to upgrade away! Thank you all for your support and helping to create such an awesome community!

How to purchase your upgrade:

If you have any trouble or questions let us know in this thread.

I purchased my membership. Whey does it say that I can still purchase the upgrade?

You can purchase as many memberships as you want now.... lol.

In order to allow people to purchase their membership before it expired, I had to turn on the option to "purchase multiple upgrades". This means you can purchase your membership today and again tomorrow if you want. Or you can purchase it today and purchase it in 364 days. Or you can wait until it expires and purchase it then. It just gives more options. As long as you have access to where you should with the membership and if you're on the site you have your green SH Member tag you are good to go.

@redsquirrel How long does it take for the upgrade to be reflected on your account? I guess mine expired so I renewed but it does not show.

@redsqfor the past 3 days I've been trying to upgrade my account but I keep getting an error message when I click on the link. Am I doing something wrong?

Send me a PM. If you can include a screenshot of your error that would help. We'll get you worked out.

I gotta say thumbs down to the price increase. $20 is a little steep to use the classifieds. Maybe lock the forum like the hunting beast and charge a couple bucks to every member to view the forum. Likely decrease traffic but $20 is too high to use the classifieds.

I thought it may have gone up. How much was it last year?
Happy to support I guess.

Realistically it’s probably not a $20 to use the classifieds fee, it’s hosting and servers and all the things that come with having an ad free site of this size and so they built in both need based (classified posting) and fun based (annual contest) incentives you get by paying the membership fee.

I can understand how some could view it that in a different way. Glad I’m not the one who has to try to figure out how to appease the masses around here either way, we are an…interesting bunch.

Yea @enkriss we ain’t buying that $5 is the tipping point for your 2024 budget :tearsofjoy:

If you look at your sales on eBay the fees for each sale would far exceed $20 with the amount of stuff you sell a year. I’m on another local hunting forum and they charge 3% of what you sell it for up to $100. When that scentlok gear sells for example, you’d already be at $30.

I think $20 is reasonable. I use to sell 20+ items a year but lately I’m down to maybe a 3-5 items. Even so, the fee feels more like supporting the site/community than paying for the classifieds to me.

Heck! A darn candy bar is $20 bucks nowadays! lol. I think it's the bargain of the century myself. Oh and @enkriss, I think if anyone you definitely get your 20 bucks worth using the classifieds :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Quite the opposite. Me having access to the classifieds to sell benefits everyone else buying my crap not me. I sell 90% of the stuff I sell on Facebook.

Charging $20 to the seller to list doesn’t vet the buyers for me

For what I use it for $20 isn’t reasonable. A 33% increase is absurd.

As with everything increasing in price consumers need to stop buying so we stop getting gouged. If people keep buying at these gouged prices they will keep increasing. Gotta take a stand somewhere.

I don't like price increases any more than anyone else but if it can keep the site ad free that will be worth it to me. I went on another site the other day and I X'd out of it within 3 minutes. Every few seconds a new ad was popping up to distract me and flashing ads in the margins. It was like trying to read a book with 4 people standing behind me tapping me hard on the shoulder. I can't stand that nonsense.
