I tried an OOAL scout, but learned that I don’t want to give up so much foot room - comfort is worth carrying a separate platform (to me). I also didn’t like the way the scout made my climbing stick so top heavy. Plenty of guys love them though, so to each their own.

LOL, I meant more area for standing measuring from the tree to the back of the platform.

So....I don't have a stick with a large angle standing surface but my sticks are similar with 2" angle steps. I made 1 with the angle V going toward and another with V going away....I prefer the 1 with the v like in the picture....being able to stand with ur instep close to the trunk has advantages on a climbing stick...I don't know if that is the same for a platform....
