Minimalist Flexible Boot Thread

I would rather try some of those other options but they more than I'm willing to pay. I'm not jumping right on it but when I do get them and beat them up a little I'll check back in with an update.....off to the boot insulators thread to learn about them
Unfortunately to get a quality shoe in minimalist form, you’re generally gonna pay more.

I've walked around 8-10 miles on flat ground, tracked a hog thru a muddy swamp bottom, and however many miles taking the baby on bike rides in the mini-mil boots and nothing but good things to say....quickly becoming my favorite shoe. Not made in USA and too expensive imo but I really like them. I've never had a "barefoot" style shoe before and I think I just got spoiled and gonna buy those type shoes from now on...I have real wide foot and now that I've worn this barefoot style shoe with the extra extra wide design I realize every shoe I've ever owned has been to narrow for my foot.

Lowa Inox GTX if you can find them, my two brothers and I use them for work and hunting.
We have a landscaping and arborist businesses. They are great all year long, I have wear them from 20* while hunting to 98* doing landscaping and tree work and they have been great . Very breathable, light weight and are just a great boot for everything.
This. I’m wearing mine right now. They are light as sneakers it’s crazy.

I get the light and flexible point. I lean that way myself. But I cant get behind using 6 in boots. I cannot go any direction where I hunt for more than 300 yards before I hit a swamp, creek, or stream crossing. My hunts would be over before they began or hunt using soaked feet.

U ever try the tingly/Yoder chaps? They pretty sweet. My main hunting shoe.

I got these non waterproof shoes for places I know to be dry and for late season when the water level is down

Another update after some hard scouting days....so they get wet cause they aren't waterproof...I purposely submerged them walking thru knee deep water. The drain holes allowed the water to escape so u don't get squishy socks too bad. Hour on the boot drier and they fully dry. On the days not walking thru standing water and there just wet dew on the foliage the leather soaks it up and gets darker color but they dry and back to original color after just couple hours walking around. Debating treating them with camp dry but haven't decided yet if that's needed or not. Liner sock, wool, and these boots....heat index has been over hundo on the days I went out and I was very pleased with how not raisined my toes were when I removed my shoes. Ground response/feel is so nice yet the joe jumper cactus didn't pierce thru so they tough enough

Do you think these books s would work with a Ring of Steps? I usually do all day sits if the opportunity arises... meaning I'm unsuccessful in my morning hunt.

If you don't wear socks when you know you're going to be walking through water, the inside of the boot will dry much faster from the body heat of your feet. Also when it gets Florida cold, your feet will stay much warmer because you have no socks on to hold the water. The arch of your feet acts as a pump pushing the water out the drain holes in the boot.

I'm gonna take ur word on that 1. I'm more of a walker than a sitter...it's nothing for me to put on 8 or 10 miles in a day. I likey my socks. I actually carry an extra pair. If I do sit in a tree for any length of time I hang them and let them dry....these boots dry pretty quick so if I sit long enough they'll be dry too....hehehe

Be careful with some soft boots and aiders. I fractured my foot on a cable aider and LL Bean Main hunting shoe.

That stinks. This spring I tore a plantar plate taking a layup past my son in my handyman shoes after putting up his new hoop. Not enough cushion in the shoe...too much cushion around my body, apparently.

How exactly did your fracture happen, if you don't mind sharing?

Post 19 kinda explains what I think happened. At the EXPO in Chattanooga I talked to one company that made aiders and he has heard of people hurting their foot with aiders that put alot of side pressure on your foot, tear drop shaped aiders.

Another update.....the sole has started separating on 1 of the shoes. I contacted the company and they sending another pair after I sent a pic showing the defect. They have a 1 year from date of purchase warranty against factory defects. They do not offer shoe repair or resole
