Missouri Meetup

Ok fellas been chatting with a few and sounds like Paddy Creek might be a hard one to hunt for a quick blind weekend.

Another one that was thrown out was Schell-Osage CA. It’s got water, cover, and food all around. Wondering if that might be an easier hang and bang spot for the weekend.

Stockton lake is also nearby if any were wanting to mix it up.

Also looks like we could roll with either October 17th or the 24th weekends. I will probably be taking off that whole week so doesn’t matter to me.

What do you guys think? Who is interested?

Well fellas it’s a 265$ permit for me to come hunt so I will respectfully decline this year. Hopefully see you in the spring

Yea, Illinios resident here...Missouri rakes Illinois residents over the coals due to Illinois trying to rape all hunters from out of state. I hate illinois.

I’m most likely in. Truman lake area is not to far away. Great camp spots and lots of land. At some point you just have to pick a spot.
 
Im in KS but had been planning on out of state tags in MO. I come every thanksgiving and Christmas for family so this year decided to get tags and hunt instead of just sitting around eating at the holidays.

At least it’s not the $442.50 that we charge everyone to come here. And MO can have 2 bucks with those tags.

[mention]biggta5 [/mention] you are required to attend so we need to work around you. Your beer has been requested! Jason even said he would come if you attended lol. Onestringer mentioned Truman too. I know you hunt the areas what would your choice be for 10+ guys to meet up and go hunt.
 
Ok guys just going to set a date and a place and hope we have a good turnout!

Truman Lake October 24th weekend.

Camping was tough to find that will be open second half of October but Bucksaw campground is open until the end of November. No reservations after the 15th just first come first serve.

Unfortunately they are shutting the water off the 15th. So no bathrooms/showers from what I understand. So primitive camping.

Right next to it though is Bucksaw Marina Resort. They have RV spots(no tents) and cabins/lodge rooms. I think the lodge rooms are $45 a night. There is also a restaurant there if needed.

I am going to come in Wednesday night or Thursday morning to scout/hunt. Come whenever you can. Fire pit/grill will be going every night!

Anyone have any connections to a company that we could have a prize for biggest deer?
 
Keeping an eye on this post. I’m in Northwest AR. Depending on what I’ve got going on that weekend and if I think I’ll make another trip to MO during the year to justify the tags, I may attend.
 
Hey - this is my first post on saddle hunter. I've been silently stalking so far. I might be able to make this meetup. I live South of Kansas City in Kansas, but was thinking about also hunting Missouri this year. This is my first year hunting out of a saddle (got a doe opening day in Kansas) and I'm now addicted!

Where are you guys planning to hunt at near Bucksaw? What's the best map/website to look at where you're hunting?
 
I'll most likely be there :) I might need to steal a canoe since my kayak may or may not have a broadhead shaped hole in it.

I’m not planning to go too far from the area. Hopefully within 30 min drive radius. Going to bring my kayak too and looking at areas I could go straight from bucksaw.

I use BaseMap as my public/private e-scouting.
