Missouri Meetup

I was just down in Current River CA a few weeks ago during muzzleloader season. It is huge and you can use your atvs on the roads in the CA which makes spreading out really easy in a hunting situation. Also, it is part of the elk restoration area so, MDC has food plots set up around the CA to help the elk heard. It is in the middle of nowhere and big woods hunting at its finest.

There’s a archery complex in Springfield they hold a lot of archery events,I have never been there but I have heard nothing put good things about it

I think middle of the state fair for everyone jefferson city area just something to think about

Tentatively looking at Paddy Creek Recreation Area. South of Rolla. Immediate area has 7,000 acres but surrounded by more Mark Twain. Seems to fit the bill for more south central. 23 camping spots. No water or power and has pit toilets.

Looking at May 30th.

I know we won’t be able to please everyone so unless there are some major issues with this that I’m not aware of I will run with this.

Is that a good thing or bad??

Never hunted around pigs.

I saw where they changed the rule on hunting them for only during deer/turkey season.

i dont believe that is the rule YET, you cant hunt them on conservation owned areas. you can still hunt them on state forest, and national forest land.

So you are saying we could turn into a scout/hog slaying event too?

Or they will have probably pushed the deer out of the area and make for a cruddy fall hunt?

I think the location and date are fine, run with it.

Hog's and deer coexist perfectly fine, the main private parcel I hunt has a strong population of both.

The Forest Service has (very unfortunately) curtailed hog hunting in Mark Twain. You are now only allowed to take hogs during Turkey/Deer season with a valid unfilled Turkey or Deer permit. Neither of those will be applicable on May 30th, but could be later in the fall. Reference: https://www.news-leader.com/story/s...ark-twain-national-forest-service/2631929001/

Welcome. Just got your form submission. I was just thinking of hitting some vendors up to see what we could finagle for a give away etc. saw Carolinas group got some swag. There are some of nearly every saddle coming to the meet up.

Hey guys was just talking to @Jefferson10940 about some custom HangTime MO MeetUp shirts for our get together.

Here is the order form. You have until May 1st to submit your order. To cut costs for shipping etc I will have him ship to me and delivery at the MeetUp. If you are getting more than one shirt please submit a new form for each shirt. Let me know if you have any questions.

Update: May 30th Paddy Creek Campground 11am-5pm for Official MO MeetUp

I spoke with the guys over the Paddy Creek area today.

First off he asked if we were bringing horses or just the saddles....

He said we are good to go and no permits required if we are under 75 people.

Only public land legal climbing methods on the trees and no parking off the road or designated spots were his only major rules.

It’s first come first serve on sites for those wanting to camp and scout a little but we should have no problems snagging 10-15 spots if people are coming to camp. I will probably be coming in on the 28th to get some spots that look the best for trees. And to do a little extra scouting the area.

Might try and come up with grilling some burger or hot dogs for lunch on the 30th so if anyone wants to pitch in for that let me know. Otherwise the rest of time it will be easier to just bring your own food and drinks.

Camping is free there but they do take donations.

There is no water so make sure to bring some. There is a pit toilet so luckily no popping a squat in the woods.

DanO has already agreed to send a package for giveaways and I will see if I can get some more from other companies. If you have connections with any see if you can reach out to them.

Reminder to fill out the form for the t-shirt if you want one. He is going to add MeetUp 2020 to the shirt for the event. Going with black shirts, white MO map and Green lettering.

Let me know if anyone has any questions. I will update some more and keep reminding as we get closer.
