Either way, I need more than the taxidermy dude gave, especially considering his attitude. And the host was not a bit subtle about what his thoughts are on the subject, lol. He was quick to agree and jump on board with this guy.
I watched a buck with a pronouncedly rounded over forehead walk in and get shot on Chasing November just this weekend. I also saw a buck with tufted up hair around the bases walk in and get killed on Chasing November this weekend. I also saw a buck whose base didn’t line up with the top of the ear walk in and get killed on Chasing November this weekend.
Not saying there’s not some funky looking deer in those pictures, but “come on man, if you can’t see that’s a doe then c’mon” isn’t a good enough substantiation of an argument for me.
I’m neutral on the deer. I want it to be real and I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise, but that guy’s “proof” was not as strong to the negative as the GW, scorers and others that held the deer in their hands “proof” was to the positive.
One other thing about the dude on the podcast….he repeatedly said he believed the racks were real, I really wish he wouldn’t have immediately left that subject every time he brought it up. Why not talk about; ok, where did they come from? Ok, if you have a giant rack like that why would you need to put it on another deer? Etc.
I always view these things from the standpoint of me being on a jury and listening to it (which I been a few times, lol) and something about this guy just seems off to me, not enough backing up of his arguments. Every time the discussion headed to where I thought it should go he shut it down quickly……”c’mon man, if you can see that’s a doe, c’mon….”.
