Moccasins for hunting?

Thanks to @Zero One Actual, I'm now looking at moccasins.

So many questions come to mind... Anybody employed them during your hunting tenure? What was your experience? How did you keep them scent free? Didn't your sweaty foot deposit od-de-man into the leather sole? Did you initially bury them underground for 12 months prior to wearing them in the woods like Eberhart does?
Just wear the beloved crocs  while still hunting

If you have some deer (or preferably elk) hide, get a center seam moccasin pattern and sew your own. They're easy to make, which is good since they wear out fairly quickly. Guaranteed, you will feel EVERY stick underfoot before bearing down with enough weight to snap it.

Do these count? I've wanted a pair of these for a while and may end up with some this year.

They right proud of those.

In the Asbell book he was all about the OG Bean boot, which is "kind of" like a moccasin boot.

Also, when I first tried deer hunting again, I put on my old deer boots that had been in the hot attic for 10+ years and went out in the woods. First day out my soles peeled right off and I was wearing moccasins the rest of the day. I actually loved it. I contemplated gluing some thin tire tread or old sandal bottom to them, but didn't move forward with the idea.

I have been interested in getting a pair for some time but haven’t found anything that trips my trigger.

How much and do I need to bring a foot by for measurements? Those are sweet mocs!!
Thank you!

$175 and you would stand on 1 foot and have someone trace your foot on a piece of paper or cardboard. Also would need to know your shoe size and width, just for comparison.

I wear a men's 8 but chose to make a 9 for thick socks if needed. It turns out that a 8 would've worked better for me.
