I tried the shorter pole and moving the rope up once in the tree method. It works fine. This is the first time I tried this so there are bound to be problems. Well, here they are. My DIY Yellow Jacket saddle is extremely comfortable just sitting in the tree. I may use a Dewalt tool bag stuffed with shrink wrap to use as a platform to address the noise issues with my aluminum platform. :D
