how long is that stick? Are you going to be knocking your knees into the platform everytime you step on the bottom step>

19 inches. Not at all. I can stand pretty much straight up and lean slightly at the hips to move the tether up. Its not a problem at all.

I thought about it, but shipping this thing around would be a PIA. Plus, I dont think id get it back! Lastly, I dont trust this thing yet. Gotta put some time and testing in. I did actually spend some quality in Sally. Even jumped up and down and dropped my 250 lbs in it about a foot. Not so much as a broken stitch.

thats right boys...a whole 12 inches!!!
 
Well, been up and down the back yard tree quit a bit. The platform is solid and the the thing really bites. My guesstimate as to where to put the cam cleat was right on. Handles side pressure well. The angle worked out good and im surprised as how much of a difference that makes. Thanks to @Nutterbuster for that tip. All of the welds re holding up fine!
