Anybody use one of these cell cams? Walmart near me has them on clearance for $60. Any feedback appreciated.

I’m annoyed with my Moultrie, the plan seems expensive. The tactacams appear to be discontinued. Im the market for 2-3 cell cams, being in NJ, want them cheap (theft can be an issue). Other suggestions for 2-3 cheap cell cams?

I bought two at the beginning of this past season. Took it out to the lease 3 hours north. Had fresh batteries, tested them and they both worked. Brand new...out of the package by like two days. Let them sit out at the property...did I say that it was 3 HOURS one way? One worked like literally 3-4 and the other only 30 minutes. Could not believe it!! Took them back to walmart and returned them. I wouldn't use them if they were free.

There’s a guy on here that works for tactacam. Can’t remember his name. He said they’ve got some cool updates coming out this year. He said May-ish is when we could expect to hear something.

I run 4 of them. I have had no problems with any of mine. I use them year round for pig hunting. I’ve dealt with customer service a couple times about an over charge and swapping my plan from a camera that grew legs. Each time was no issue.

I know you said "hold out for a tactacam" but have you looked into spypoint yet? You can find them brand new for real cheap on ebay. I have 9 spypoint cameras, 4 link-w, 2 link micro, 1 link-WM (micro), and 2 cell link. The cell link will make any non cell cam you have into a cell cam, and for 59$ brand new. On top of that, you can get 100 pictures on the free plan. As far as I know, they are the only company that offers a free plan, every other provider makes you purchase a data plan. I'm in no way affiliated with them but I am a pretty big cheerleader for them. The most expensive camera I bought to date is 78$ and that was including tax and shipping. I bought most of mine from ebay. They have good trigger speeds, and easy to use app, and you can get signal boosters dirt cheap on ebay for them as well (although the boosters are chinese made, I figured that most cameras are made there anyway). I look for the best bang for my buck, I'm looking for specific data points from trail cam pics, buck consistency, direction of travel, times of travel, and frequency of travel so I usually use the cheapies like Tasco or the cheapest stealthcams I can find after the season ends. I also only have cameras on public land so spend 100$ or more on cameras is to high a risk to loose if one is stolen....
